I had the pleasure of microchipping these beautiful puppies over the weekend, and I honestly can't believe some of them are still looking for their forever homes 🥹🐶

Did you know? 🐾
It is now a legal requirement for puppies to be microchipped before leaving their breeder. While it's a quick procedure, it can sometimes be a little stressful for young puppies, which is why I offer a mobile microchipping service and come directly to you.

Being in their familiar environment helps keep things as calm and positive as possible for both puppies and breeders 💜

Microchips give pets the best chance of being reunited with their families should they ever become lost, making them one of the most important things we can do for their safety.

🐦💙 MISSING FROM PRESTON GRANGE 💙🐦

Please can everyone keep an eye out for this beautiful blue and white budgie who sadly flew out of a window in the Preston Grange area.

Their family are absolutely desperate to find them and get them safely back home 💔

Budgies can become frightened and tired very quickly outdoors, so please check gardens, fences, sheds and nearby trees. They may respond to gentle voices or budgie noises.

If spotted, please try not to chase them as this may frighten them further.

☀️🐾 I hope everyone enjoyed the sunny bank holiday yesterday… but if your dog was outside — are they OK today? 🐾☀️

Heatstroke is unfortunately far more common than people realise, and sometimes the signs can be mistaken for your dog just being tired after a hot day.

Please keep an eye out for:
⚠️ Wobbliness or weakness
⚠️ Vomiting or diarrhoea
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Excessive drooling
⚠️ Bright red gums (or very pale gums)
⚠️ Lethargy or not acting themselves

If your dog has any of these symptoms after being out in the heat, please don’t dismiss it. Heatstroke can become serious very quickly.

✔️ Move them somewhere cool and indoors
✔️ Offer access to fresh water
✔️ Contact your vet for advice or an examination

Dogs don’t sweat like we do — they rely heavily on panting to cool down, and once they become too hot, things can deteriorate quickly.

Please check in on your furry friends today and trust your instincts if something doesn’t feel right 💜🐶

☀️🐾 PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE WALKING YOUR DOG TODAY 🐾☀️

At 27°C — it is simply too hot for most dogs.

After driving along the coast this morning, I was honestly shocked by how many dogs were still out walking in the heat. I know everyone wants to enjoy the sunshine, but our dogs don’t have the same ability to cool themselves down as we do.

Heatstroke can happen quickly and can become a life-threatening emergency.

Please remember:
🌡️ Avoid walks in this heat
🖐️ Feel the pavement, sand, decking and artificial grass before letting your dog stand on it
💧 Keep fresh water available
🌳 Stay in shaded, cool areas
🧠 Use enrichment, training, sniff games and garden time instead

Dogs do not need to be walked every single day if conditions aren’t safe. Missing one walk is far better than risking heatstroke.

☀️🐾 It’s a HOT one today! 🐾☀️

A little reminder to please think carefully before heading out with your dog 🐶💜

🌡️ Once temperatures get above 21°C, there is an increased risk of heatstroke especially for puppies, older dogs, overweight dogs, and flat-faced breeds.

Before your dog walks:
🖐️ Feel the pavement — if it’s too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for paws
🏖️ Check sand, artificial grass, and decking too, these heat up quickly
🚫 Avoid midday walks
💧 Keep water available
🌳 Stick to shaded areas and shorter outings

Remember, dogs don’t need long walks every day if conditions aren’t safe. Sniff games, enrichment, training and garden time can be just as valuable 💜

Keep your furry friends cool, comfortable and safe today 🐾☀️

🐾💜 Meet Mango 💜🐾

Today I got to visit lovely Mango in the comfort of his own home for a nail clip ✂️🐶

While I was there, I also had a quick look at his teeth and we had a chat about the warmer summer months and some of the extra care needed for brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds ☀️💜

🐶 What does brachycephalic mean?
Brachycephalic dogs are breeds with shortened noses and flatter faces — such as Bulldogs, Pugs, French Bulldogs, Boston Terriers, Shih Tzus and more.

Because of their anatomy, they can need a little extra support — especially in warmer weather.
💡 Why extra care is important:
☀️ They can struggle to cool themselves down efficiently
😮‍💨 Narrow airways can make breathing harder
🏃 Exercise tolerance may be lower in hot weather
🚗 Cars, conservatories and warm spaces can become dangerous very quickly
💧 They may need more rest, shade and access to water

Signs to watch for include:
⚠️ Excessive panting
⚠️ Loud breathing
⚠️ Bright red gums
⚠️ Tiredness or slowing down
⚠️ Distress or collapse
