Dog attacks are real and sadly increasing in numbers. Either dog or human attacks.
WHY❓
❌ Poor breeding: Poor health and poor temperament dogs are being bred. They can be anxious and starting their lives in the wrong environment.
❌ Dog owners: those who try to cut corners on basic welfare needs. Poor nutrition, dogs being in pain left without treatment, lack of proper positive training are all contributing factors
❌ Environment: Getting the right dog in the first place that suites your lifestyle, your household family is CRITICAL! Not all dogs are suitable even if you like the look of them! So before you think of buying a particular breed, study their temperaments, their needs FIRST!
❌Genetics/DNA: Unfortunately, sometimes Genetics and DNA get in the way to having a balanced dog 😔. Do your homework, make sure you check their background as much as you can. Especially if you are getting a puppy!! Make sure you see the munand dad or at least the Mum (No compromise).
❌I'll health: be observant and check if your dog is possibly in pain or discomfort: Limping, excessive panting, a**l gland issues, tooth ache, poor condition of coat, excessive licking...ect.. get your dog checked out if you sense something is not quite right.
❌Trauma: This is the most common one... Where dogs have had trauma (being bitten by another dog, mistreatment from previous owners, unknown trauma...ect.
Seek help before the behaviour get out of control and overwhelming. Engage a professional qualified behaviourist! 😔
REMEMBER⚠️
Dog trainers ARE NOT necessarily BEHAVIOURIST!! So make sure you do your research and homework.
Any if the above or a combinatuin is the perfect storm.
Please seek help if your dog is manifesting any unwanted behaviours before it gets out of hand 🙏
