Time........it goes too quickly πππΎπ only 20 months since we lost our dear Gunner.
It can go by in the blink of an eye.....our hearts are completely broken, the bottom has fallen out of our world......we weren't ready, but we'll never be ready.
Myself & Mike knew this day would come and we dreaded the very thought of it.
So very very suddenly our lives have been devasted....
Our gorgeous, handsome, funny, gentle Syd crossed Rainbow bridge yesterday afternoon ππΎππ.
He was without a doubt the #1 best dog, we couldn't have wished for more, thank you Jane & Pete for allowing us to be his mum & dad - very nearly 12 years of joy with him.
People say to remember the good times, and we do, but there is no way to block the total utter loss and sadness we are all feeling right now. It really wasn't expected....you can never ever prepare yourselves enough!
But we will remember the many many happy memories we had with Syd by oursides - Me, Mike, Goose & Reg X
Syd slept next to us nearly every single night, sneaking under the duvet. His happy rolls when we thought we weren't looking, his happy go lucky character, his total obsession with toast, sniffing and his love of paddling.
What cannot be replaced is the look in his eyes when we got home, his huge body waggling cause he was so happy to see us. Doesn't matter if we had been away 5 minutes or 5 hours.
The loyalty and unconditional love. The way he was just so chilled & taught everyone to be happy.
The moments when we were sad & down and he'd poke us with his wet nose or bring us his favourite toys to cheer us up.
He had the best life, but in reality it was us that had the best part of the deal. Just to see the love in his eyes every time he looked at us was all that we needed from him. There was a brightness waiting for the next adventure. πΎ
I don't know what more we could say about him. But he was simply the BEST dog.
We will spend the next days remembering him, just as every other day, but with a few more tears & trying to help Goose & Reg through.
We know he is enjoying his place at the rainbow bridge with his best pal Gunner and all the others up there that we've lost.
I know they have all held a special place for us when we get there and can hardly wait to be with them all again. There is nothing more I can say except WE LOVE YOU AND MISS YOU MR SYD
See you soon our gorgeous boy!
