⭐️ Dragon Boat Race ⭐️
This Saturday, a team of Jubilee staff & friends are swapping their lab coats for life jackets, and ointment bottles for oars when they take on the Dragon Boat Race on the river Lagan!
“We are raising money for the Children's Cancer Unit Charity who do amazing work to support the Children's Cancer and Haematology Unit in the Royal Hospital in Belfast. Whatever we raise will go a long way to supporting the hospital and the families who they look after when their children are being treated.”
➡️ More information on the charity can be found at childrenscancerunit.com
There will be plenty of craic amongst our keen rowers, and we hope the race goes swimmingly, but most importantly….we hope they raise BOAT loads of money for an amazing charity!

This lamb came in with a broken leg, but thanks to some careful work from vet Suzanne and vet nurse Lauren, the leg has been set and protected with a cast. 🩹

Lambs are incredibly resilient, and with a bit of veterinary care and some time to heal, this one should be back on its feet soon.

Cases like this are a great reminder to check young lambs regularly during lambing season, as injuries can happen quickly in the field.

Great teamwork from Suzanne and Lauren to get this little one comfortable and on the road to recovery! 🐑

📣BEEF & SHEEP CLIENTS:

Due to the Bluetongue vaccine recommended for cattle 'Bultavo' only being available in 50 dose bottles and the vaccine recommended for sheep 'Syvazul' only being available in 40 dose bottles, we will be potentially holding a 'vaccine broach day' for our beef and sheep clients who may have numbers of cattle/sheep below these amounts.

This will depend on the demand and therefore the date of the 'vaccine broach day' will be confirmed if enough interest.

If interested in this service, please comment below stating 'beef' or 'sheep' and how many doses would be required or alternatively, contact the office on 02891812226 and select option 1 for farm.☎️

‼️IMPORTANT‼️
- An application for a licence to purchase vaccine MUST be made via DAERA before we can supply vaccine.

You can apply for this licence through the DAERA website or by clicking on the link below:

A great turnout yesterday on a miserable day discussing proactive parasite control in young cattle. 🐄

We looked at risk mapping pastures, diagnostic options, understanding wormers and wormer resistance, as well as lungworm vaccine option - Huskvac.

Thanks to Karen Patterson and team for hosting and thanks to Animal Health for providing additional insight into Huskvac options for young cattle.

🦙ATTENTION TO ALL SMALL HOLDERS. 🐑

We are planning to run a Bluetongue vaccine dispensary clinic for small holding sheep and alpaca clients who need less than 40 doses of vaccine.

The vaccine we recommend for use in sheep/alpacas is SYVAZUL. It is supplied in 40 dose bottles and once broached must be used within 10 hours.

Our plan is to hold a number of “vaccine broach days” where we will supply smaller quantities(
