🌡️ Heatwave Update — Groom Changes This Week

With the temperatures climbing, I’ve had to rearrange grooms this week to keep everyone’s dogs safe and comfortable. Grooming in high heat — especially drying — can raise a dog’s body temperature quickly, and I won’t risk any pup becoming stressed or overheated.

Thank you so much to everyone who’s been understanding. Your dogs’ wellbeing always comes first, and sometimes that means adjusting appointments when the weather isn’t on our side.

If you’re unsure about your appointment or need to check a new time, just drop me a message. Stay cool, give your pups plenty of shade and water, and we’ll get everyone pampered as soon as it’s safe to do so 🐾💛

THE GROOMERY • HEATWAVE WARNING FOR DOG OWNERS ☀️

With temperatures soaring this week, I just want to keep everyone’s pups safe, cool and comfortable.

🐾 Heatstroke is a real risk

Dogs can overheat fast — especially flat‑faced breeds, older dogs, overweight dogs, and anxious pups. Grooming dryers, stress, and hot rooms can raise their temperature even quicker.

❌ Please avoid:

• Daytime walks – early morning or late evening only
• Hot pavements – if you can’t hold your hand there for 5 seconds, it’s too hot
• Cars, even with windows open
• Heavy exercise or long play sessions
• Grooming in extreme heat – dryers + stress + 30°C heat is a dangerous mix

✅ Do instead:

• Keep them indoors in the coolest room
• Use fans, cool mats, damp towels, and plenty of fresh water
• Offer frozen treats or ice cubes
• Let them rest — no dog ever suffered from missing a walk, but heatstroke is deadly

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke:

• Excessive panting
• Drooling
• Red gums
• Vomiting
• Wobbling or collapse
If you notice these, cool them gradually and contact a vet immediately.

Dumbo came in for his groom today and was so relaxed he just…
lay down for most of it.
Didn’t move. Didn’t care.
Just living his best spa‑day life while I worked around him like a personal butler.

Had the pleasure of grooming one of my absolute favourites today — a gorgeous Chinese Crested.
They’re such a unique little breed and honestly one of my top “flavours” of dog to work with.
Soft skin, silky hair, and the sweetest personality.
Loved every minute.
