Meet the handsome Alfie ❤️

Alfie’s human would like let Alfie enjoy off lead time & be a responsible owner. We went back to basics rebuilding recall & focus, starting with name recognition. Then we started work on building loose lead walking skills

Next we will tackle bring these skills into a more distracting environment. Well done Team Alfie!

Great to see Dusty back at Doggy Den NI HQ

Adolescence has well & truly kicked in! This is a very tricky phase for a dog, so keeping things simple is key. We revisited loose lead walking & building focus. We also worked on get the tools in place to help Dusty to calmly deal with distractions.

All the training was there from puppy class so just a few tweaks were needed to give his human the confidence to work through this phase.

This time we got to work on loose lead walking, more focus on his humans & leaning to walk calmly past distractions

Adolescence is a very tricky phase for a dog, so keeping things simple is key. Marking calm behaviour & not putting them into situations that can create the big feelings

Finishing off strong with super recalls, handling jumping, the importance of play & the popular confidence course

Meet the very handsome Artie ❤️

Just 12 weeks old & making himself at home with his new family.

Training starts as soon a puppy gets home. Potty training, handling puppy biting & marking the behaviour you want to get them off on the right paw.

We also started crate training games, how to self soothe & manage short absences to reduce any separation issues

Early training doesn’t have to be anything fancy, it can be as simple as sitting out the front of the house & marking calm behaviour around cars & people passing the house. Letting them get comfortable around the noises they are going to hear.

If you’d like to get your puppy off to the best start in life 121 sessions are available & the next Puppy Life Skills course starts on Saturday 1 August at 10.30am - only 2 spaces remaining!
