A quiet day but a little bit of everything to ease me back into it 🥰

Ozzy got his haircut, it was Biscuits very first visit to a salon for a wash and nail trim and finished the day with Kaya for a deshedding mud spa 💖

If you've followed me from the start you'll know Kaya has been with me for years so a special thanks to Kaya's mum for sticking with me, even after a few years off.

I thought it was about time I introduced you properly to the real Kiwi & Co. (Dylan).

Kiwi is 9 years old and still acts like a puppy. She loves a cuddle, but not for too long 🤣 and she is the only border collie I've come across that doesn't like a tennis ball 🥎

Dylan is 14 and is growing old gracefully. She'd still chase a ball if those back legs would let her but she's all about cuddles and snoozing on the sofa these days 💤

✨🥝 Puppy Grooms 🥝✨

This is Cookie 🍪. She is a 12 week old Australian Labradoodle who has just booked in with me for a puppy package 😍.

✂️Grooming from a young age will set Cookie up for life. With her coat type she is going to be getting groomed every 6-8 weeks so starting early allows us to introduce and set good habits.

✂️Puppy packages are about introducing the basics of grooming which will allow Cookie to familiarise herself with not just the tools, sounds and smells but also with me as the groomer.

✂️Cookie will then have the confidence for her full groom when the time comes and will enjoy coming back to the salon for future visits.

Prep is key when it comes to dog grooming. If you don't prep well, you will never get the best finish for your clients. Clearing out pads is just one of the many steps for prepping a dog for a full groom but has a big part to play in making those beautiful round paws 🐾

A paw tidy can be added on to a nail trim and is especially good during the hot weather to help dogs cool themselves down 🥵

Ps, if you look closely, it looks like a teddy bear 🧸

Hand Stripping, whilst sometimes seen as a more specialist skill in dog grooming, is actually a perfectly normal way for some types of dogs to be groomed. Excess hair is stripped away by either using a special knife specifically designed for hand stripping or using chalk and finger condoms. This creates a healthier and more natural look which is very popular among owners.

This (not so) little lady was so much fun to groom. We would sing together 🎵she would lean on me for the entirety of the groom 💪🏼 and make me laugh by sitting in the smallest cage waiting for pick up 😅.
