Behind every appointment is a team who truly cares - not just about the pets we treat, but the people who love them too 💙

Thank you for your kind words Chris!

Hugo came in to see us recently as he’d been feeling a little out of sorts. He was such a good boy for us but definitely wanted to go home as soon as possible!

Whilst he was with us, Hugo’s mum was telling us all about his adorable little ear “horns” 👀😆 If you’re familiar with Vizslas, you might know these cute little points as futaki horns - a quirky little feature that some Vizslas proudly sport! 🧡

There are lots of fun myths around them, including that they mean a dog is an extra-special hunter… although we think Hugo is already pretty special without needing any extra proof 😍

Double the Sphynx snuggles 🐱🐱

Meet Salem and Myrtle, who came in and showed us that sometimes the best part of a vet visit is all the cuddles! 🥰

These two gorgeous little characters were very happy having some quality time with their parents and we just couldn't get enough of those big ears so we had to snap a quick pic!

Good nutrition is key to keeping rabbits happy and healthy! 🐰

This year’s Rabbit Awareness Week theme is “Feeding bunnies better”, and we couldn’t help but remind you of the magic formula that ensures your bunnies are getting all their nutrient and digestive needs met:

✔️ 85 to 90% of fresh hay or grass

✔️ A variety of safe leafy greens each day

✔️ A small amount of good quality nuggets or pellets

✔️ Constant access to fresh water

Hay is very important as it keeps bunnies’ digestive systems moving properly and naturally wears down their continuously growing teeth.

We recommend avoiding muesli-style foods or too many treats, as these can lead to dental disease, digestive problems and obesity over time.

The truth is that feeding a balanced diet can make a big difference to your bunnies’ long-term health and wellbeing.

If you have any bunny-related questions, our team is always happy to help and talk things through.

What’s your rabbit’s favourite healthy snack? 🐰🥬 Let us know in the comments, we’d love to hear what keeps your bunnies hopping happily at home.

Have you seen Henry? He has gone missing from Barn Park, Buckfastleigh on Saturday 21st June.

Henry will be anxious and confused now and is extremely vulnerable. Please help his owners find him.

Henry is an elderly house cat who is almost blind and partially deaf. He appears to have escaped through an open window at around 10:30am yesterday. As Henry may be disoriented and frightened, he could be hiding quietly in a shed, garage, garden, or other sheltered spot nearby.

Please could you check sheds, garages, outbuildings, and gardens, and keep an eye out for him.

If you have any information or sightings, please contact us on 01626 835002.

Thank you for helping us spread the word and bring Henry safely home ❤️

At Whiskers, we know that every dog is different. Some bounce through the door full of confidence, while others need a little more time, patience and encouragement to feel comfortable.

As a Dog Friendly Clinic, we focus on making visits feel as calm and positive as possible. That means gentle handling, taking things at your dog’s pace, plenty of reassurance, and yes, well-earned biscuits too! 💚

Our longer 20-minute consultations also give dogs more time to settle in, explore their surroundings, and build trust with our team, helping visits feel less stressful.

Does your dog have a favourite treat that instantly wins them over? Let us know in the comments. 🐶

Meet Buddy - Brodie's loyal sidekick, best friend, and emotional support dog! 🐾❤️

While Brodie has been visiting us for socialisation sessions (always accompanied by his trusty emotional support ball), Buddy has been there every step of the way, cheering him on... or trying to push him out of the way to get some liver paste for himself! 😋

We're so proud of how far Brodie has come already. His confidence is growing with every visit, and he's making fantastic progress! 🌟

As for Buddy... well, his enthusiasm for life is unmatched. He was a little too excited to sit quietly during Brodie's consultation, so Abbie and Lucy stepped in to keep him entertained on reception instead.

Judging by the endless fuss, attention, and liver paste he received, we're pretty sure Buddy considered it the best day ever! 😍🐶

Bella came in for a full dental spruce up! She was an absolute star throughout the day and, of course, received plenty of cuddles from our lovely nursing team ❤️🐾

Did you know that over 60% of a tooth lies below the gumline? This means that many dental problems can't be seen just by looking in the mouth.

That's why we perform dental x-rays as standard during our dental procedures. While dental radiography has been commonplace in human dentistry for many years, it's still not routinely offered in all veterinary practices.

Without dental x-rays, we could miss up to 30% of dental disease in dogs and 50% in cats. They allow us to detect hidden problems such as infections, root damage, and tooth resorption, helping us provide the very best care for our patients 🦷✨

Bella's was a perfect patient from start to finish 💕👑
