Did you know that 1 in 5 cats over the age of nine is affected by high blood pressure? 🤔

Even more concerning, as hypertension is a silent disease, many owners don’t realise anything is wrong until complications develop.

Untreated hypertension can lead to severe and sometimes irreversible damage, including:

🐈 Vision loss (sudden blindness is common)

🐈 Kidney disease (a frequent underlying or associated condition)

🐈 Neurological issues such as seizures or disorientation

🐈 Heart disease, including thickening of the heart muscle

Routine screening is essential to diagnose this condition early and prevent organ damage.

Hi everyone, it’s Nurse Rodney with a gentle reminder.

We’re back on the subject of parasite control today, because someone recently found a flea on me… which meant it was time for a treatment plan check. ✔️🙈

When it comes to protecting us against parasites, there are a lot of options available. Though I myself do prefer the tasty kind, there are also spot-on treatments, collars, and even an injection that offers protection for a full year.

It’s important to stick to our team’s recommendations, as often times you won’t always see fleas straight away, especially in pets who have long hair just like mine. But that doesn’t mean they’re not there.

If your pet seems a bit itchier than usual, if you see dirt on their hair or bed, or if you actually see fleas on them, even if it’s just one, talk to our team.

I don’t mean to be dramatic, but fleas, and other parasites, are definitely not the kind of “friends” you want to bring home after a walk!

Roo and Dani were clearly meant to be twinning 🖤🤍😂

This gorgeous girlie came in for a dental this week and was an absolute superstar from start to finish. Once she was awake, all she wanted was cuddles and reassurance - and Dani was on hand, just so happening to arrive in a jumper that matched Roo perfectly 🐾

We’re not sure what’s cuter… the post-dental snuggles or the accidental matching outfits 🥹

Isn't Crumble beautiful? He was the perfect model for the research project into pet medical t-shirts vs the lampshade collars.
Crumble had a little mass removed from his back legs but has recovered wonderfully and is now fully signed off!

After nearly 11 wonderful years with us, it’s time to say a fond farewell to Mel as she heads into retirement! ❤️

Many of you will know Mel from reception, keeping everything running smoothly behind the scenes and always making sure both you and your pets feel welcomed and looked after.

Her attention to detail, organisation, and friendly nature have made a real difference to so many visits over the years, and she will be very much missed by all of us here.

As for retirement plans, we hear there may be a show cocker spaniel involved… which sounds like a lovely way to start this next chapter. 🐶

Ember came in with her mummy the other week for a dental procedure 🐾💛

Because Ember can be a little wary of new people and situations, we made sure everything happened as gently and familiarly as possible. Mum stayed with her while we she had a little check over and her injection and then Ember drifted off to sleep cuddled up with her Mum right beside her.

When she woke up feeling a little unsure, Nurse Abbie - Ember’s favourite Nurse was there waiting with cuddles and reassurance 💕

We know vet visits can feel overwhelming for some pets, so moments like this really matter to us. Taking the time to work with each pet as an individual, and helping them feel safe every step of the way, is such an important part of what we do.

Thank you to Ember’s mummy for trusting us with her special girl 🐶✨
