THANK YOU💙🐾

On behalf of everyone at the USPCA, including our four-legged friends, we would like to say a big THANK YOU to all of those who called into our centre over the holiday period to donate food and essential items for our animals!

Pictured is Marcelina who popped into the centre with her mum and left off this very generous donation of food for all the kitties in our care.😺

Your donations will help our animal care team continue to provide nutrition for all of the beloved rescue animals at our centre. Kindness like this is so uplifting and does not go unmissed by our teams!💕

Eddie's Visit 🎄

Just before Christmas, we were delighted to get a visit from Eddie and his owners. Not to mention the two incredible women (Layla and Tasha) who set up a fantastic fundraiser, raising over £1,600 to help Eddie. ❤️‍🩹

At Halloween, poor Eddie was the victim of an appalling act of animal cruelty as it's believed he was targeted with a firework, causing horrific injuries.

We weren't sure if he was going to pull through. But he did.

This lucky boy has been recovering well and spent a cozy Christmas with his family (playing the star at the top of the Catmas tree).

As we look forward to the New Year, let’s carry with us the hope that kindness, compassion, and stronger protections for animals will come into play in 2026. Here's to a fresh start, where more stories like Eddie's have happy endings.

Wishing everyone a safe, peaceful, and joyful New Year!

MILDRED 🩷

Mildred was admitted into our care after she was found with a badly injured back left leg and pelvic injury. Upon examination, the veterinary team decided that it would be best to amputate this leg due to the extent of the injury.

After several weeks of rest and care, she is now ready to start searching for her forever home.🏠

Mildred is a beautiful girl with a gentle personality! She can be initially a little shy, but once she gets to know you, this sweet girl loves getting lots of fuss and enjoys a gentle chin scratch.🥰 Mildred also has a playful side, enjoying spending time playing with her toys.

While recovering from her amputation, Mildred has started to come out of her shell and we believe in the right home, she will continue to grow in confidence.

Due to her amputation, we believe Mildred would be best suited in a calm, settled home where she could be an indoor-only cat.

She would hope her new family will understand that she may need a little time to settle into her new home, but once settled we believe she will be a lovely addition to the right family.💕

If you can give this lovely girl the happy home she is waiting for, check out her profile on our website 👉 https://buff.ly/2v4AiWD

Happy at Home!🐶

Rusty was surrendered into our care back in March and spent nearly 100 days at our centre being cared for by our animal care team, as sadly this sweet boy was overlooked and sadly had no one attend an appointment to meet him.😔

Thankfully his forever family finally found him and Rusty got the second chance he had been waiting for, his owner Paige sent us the loveliest little update to let us know he has settled in so well in his new home.

“Rusty really is the best boy, and in fact, you can’t say the words handsome in the house without him wagging his tail and giving kisses. He is such a happy boy and made our house chaotic in the best way”🥰

Thank you for choosing to and for giving Rusty the happy home he waiting for!💙🐾

Meet Moya – a little fighter whose story is one of resilience and hope! 🤍

Found extremely cold and weak, Moya was admitted into our care in July alongside her two siblings. While her siblings improved, our veterinary team knew straight away that unfortunately Moya was in a very bad way.

It is suspected that Moya had suffered from severe head trauma. Unable to hold herself up, Moya had head tremors and her left eye was very swollen. The team were unsure if she would make it through the night but she deserved a chance. 🙏

Moya received intensive veterinary care and was fostered by our head veterinary nurse, Niall, who took her home and provided around the clock, as she had limited vision and needed to be syringe fed every few hours.

Moya’s recovery was a slow process. The team began to suspect that Moya may have dwarfism and potentially other underlying neurological abnormalities. Progress came but in tiny steps. Every day was uncertain, but this little lady never gave up.

Thanks to the patience, love and nurture of veterinary and animal care, Moya proved that she was going to live a full cat life and we are so happy to share that after 150 days in our care, this brave little girl found the loving forever home she so deserved.💖

🩺 Stories like Moya’s show the life-changing power of medical care and compassion. You can help us provide care for more animals like Moya by donating to our December Donation Drive 👉 https://buff.ly/qZ3GjR1

We were made aware of reports regarding a sheep on Pigeon Mountain and understand the concern this situation has caused.

We have escalated this matter as a priority with the relevant authorities and the Private Office of the Minister. We’ve now been informed that the DAERA veterinary team are aware and have begun an investigation.

Before they become your family, they’re ours! 🐾

This is why it was only fitting that our rescue animals got a chance to meet Santa for a photo, treats and a special toy 🎅🎄

A big thanks to everyone that supported our Santa Paws events this year! ❤️

Thank you Poyntzpass Primary School!

In October, the staff and children of Poyntzpass PS held a fantastic fashion show, where our charity shop team took a stall. The school raised vital funds for two charities - with one being the USPCA. 🐶 🐱 🦉

We had a lovely time visiting the school and meeting such bright, compassionate children that care so much for animals. ❤️

Merry Christmas to you lovely lot! 🎄
