💔 Mary, Midge & Mungo are still waiting... 💔
Sadly, Mary, Midge and Mungo haven't received many rehoming applications since coming into our care. 😢 Although their original stray post received lots of attention and many offers of homes, these didn't result in completed rehoming applications. Instead, we received general enquiries, all of which were answered. Because of this, we may now consider rehoming them separately.

Our preference would be for Mary and Midge to stay together, as they share the strongest bond. They would need to be the only dogs in the home.

At 8+ years old, kennel life really isn't where these lovely little dogs should be spending their retirement. They are true lap dogs who adore human company, cuddles and affection.

Mary's eyesight has been permanently affected due to untreated dry eye before she came into our care. Because of this, she can find meeting new people and unfamiliar dogs a little scary at first. However, once she knows and trusts you, she is incredibly loving and enjoys nothing more than a fuss—just like Midge.

Mungo, meanwhile, is full of character and would happily steal all of the attention for himself! ❤️

They are all typical Chihuahuas with big personalities, and each of them deserves the chance to spend their golden years in a warm, loving home instead of a kennel.

Whether they find a home together or separately, Mary, Midge and Mungo all deserve the love, comfort and security of a family to call their own.

REUNITED WITH OWNER

✨ Max's incredible transformation ✨
When 11-year-old Max arrived with us as an unclaimed stray, our hearts broke for him. 💔
He was suffering with a severe, untreated skin infection that had left him in constant pain. His skin was red, inflamed and covered in open sores, scabs and significant hair loss, and the relentless itching must have been unbearable.

Fast forward to today... just look at him! ❤️

Thanks to plenty of love and the right veterinary care—including steroids, antibiotics, pain relief and regular medicated baths—Max is feeling so much more comfortable, and his skin is healing beautifully.
While Max has made amazing progress, he still has a little way to go. Following his recent check-up at the vets, he's now started another course of treatment to help continue his recovery, and we'll be supporting him every step of the way.

Max's journey is only possible because of the incredible support our volunteer group, Fonds - Friends Of Newport Dogs, receives. Every donation, fundraiser and shares, helps us ensure that every dog who comes into our care receives the veterinary treatment, medication and ongoing support they need, no matter the cost. Your support truly changes lives, and dogs like Max are living proof of that. ❤️

His transformation is a reminder of the difference that compassion, proper treatment and a safe place can make. Every dog deserves the chance to feel loved, comfortable and cared for, no matter their age.
We're so proud of you, Max. 🐾💙

The best news? Max is setting off tomorrow to his foster home with a view to adopt. We couldn't be happier for him as he begins this exciting new chapter, and we can't wait to follow his journey.
