And so the sun sets on yet another good days showjumping at Ponderosa EC…

Around 130 horses & ponies jumped today, great to see a lot of new faces from both sides of the 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Estuary 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿.

Next 3 dates are in in August, same format - Junior, Category 1 & Club/Unaffiliated at the end of the day.

If you haven’t visited our venue before, we would encourage you to try us. The map in the photo shows approx everyone that is within 1 Hr 45 minutes from us.

We are super easy To access from junction J24 of the M4 motorway. Only 5 minutes to our gate from the motorway.

Must be flexible to work evenings / weekends. Experience working on a busy yard is an advantage but training is available for suitable applicants.

Own transport is essential.

**Discovery Second Round**

31 Competitors came forward to contest Kevin Bulls’ Love Nupafeed Discovery Second Round course at Ponderosa Equestrian Centre on Sunday.

With the standard very high, 23 riders progressed to the second round and 19 to the third and final round.

With many riders opting for a steady treble clear, the final line of a water tray to vertical proved influential with several faulting at the last.

Not so for the winner - 20 year old Honey Vooght from Devon, who obviously had the winner’s rug in her sights!

Partnering her first proper competition horse, the 7 year old Emerald gelding Cicerald, who Honey has been riding for a year, the pair flew round to jump treble clear and won the class.

Second place went to Heidi Ford (ATMs Chacoas Uno), with Third place sealing a fantastic weekend for Laura Kirkham (Claro Van de Saffelberg Z) who won the Ariat British Novice Second Round at Ponderosa the previous day.

A further 7 combinations jumped treble clear to qualify for the final.

Well,

A super weekend hosting the British Novice & Discovery second rounds here @ Ponderosa Equestrian Centre.

Congratulations to our Ariat British Novice Second Round winner - Laura Kirkham, with the 7 year old mare - Claro Van de Saffelberg. This duo travelled all the way from East Yorkshire to take the winners spot.

Having lost her Dad, who was her avid supporter since the age of 5 to cancer only two weeks ago, Laura was fulfilling his dream of seeing her qualify for the BS Championships.

Not satisfied with this win, Laura went on to finish third in the Nupafeed Discovery second round with a treble clear to qualify for this also.

There was hardly a dry eye in the house!

Second place for the novice qualifier went to Rachel Vicary and New Addition 1 and third to Megan Betteridge with Flamencos Double Trouble.

Also qualifying with treble clears were
Laura Bool (Nanifer Gold), Lucy Gilsenan (Avacado Toast), Eloise Burden (Maestegeirian Rockafella) and Sophia Parry (Hallsmill Kelly).

We wish them all the best of Luck at the BS Nationals in August. 🏅🍀

*Passport Checks - Shows & Hire *

To enable us to continue to run competition and training activities whilst safeguarding the welfare of horses we will be carrying out passport checks on arrival for all shows.

· Ensure you have your horse’s passport before arriving at a BS venue

· Vaccinations must have been carried out in accordance with BS vaccination rules

· Unvaccinated or horses with lapsed or incomplete vaccinations will not be allowed to unload and compete

· Refunds will not be given in circumstances where vaccinations are not in accordance with our rules or where the passport is not with the horse

· We strongly recommend 6 monthly vaccination

Big thank you to all who attended, competitors & officials alike.

Well contested classes with over 125 entries today.

Nice to see lots of new faces today as well as regular competitors.
