With the warmer weather here, we’ve been especially grateful for the new air conditioning in the Paws on Paris studio.

It has made such a difference to the atmosphere, helping us keep the space cool, calm and comfortable while the dogs are being groomed.

Keeping cool in the heat.

Lovely Chester came in today for his groom, and with the temperature rising, it was the perfect time to take his woolly coat back and help him feel lighter and more comfortable.

Warm weather can be difficult for dogs, especially those with thicker coats, older dogs, puppies, flat-faced breeds, or dogs who struggle in the heat. Regular grooming can really help keep their coat manageable, but there are also a few simple things you can do at home:

🐾 Keep walks to the cooler parts of the day, usually early morning or later in the evening. It is also ok to miss a walk.

🐾 Make sure your dog always has access to fresh water and shade.

🐾 Avoid hot pavements, as they can burn paws. A simple check is to place the back of your hand on the ground.

🐾 Never leave dogs in cars, conservatories or hot rooms, even for a short time.

🐾 Watch for signs of overheating, such as heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, confusion or collapse. If you are ever worried, contact your vet straight away.

A fresh groom, a cooler coat and a little extra care can make a big difference on hot days.

A calm first groom for beautiful Blossom.

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve had the pleasure of welcoming several puppies into the Paws on Paris studio for their first grooming experiences.

A puppy’s first groom is such an important moment. It is not just about the finished look. It is about helping them feel safe, settled and comfortable with the sounds, smells and gentle handling that come with grooming.

That is why we have been making thoughtful improvements to the studio, from the softer colour scheme to the fresh plants and calmer layout. Every little detail is designed to help create a peaceful atmosphere for the dogs in our care.

Blossom was a little star during her first visit. With patience, reassurance, and plenty of kindness, she had a lovely introduction to grooming in a calm, caring space.

Because when puppies feel relaxed from the beginning, grooming can become something they grow to trust, rather than fear.

A little smile refresh at Paws on Paris.

Teeth cleaning is now available as an additional service for our grooming customers, helping to support your dog’s dental care as part of their regular care routine.

Just like their coat, your dog’s teeth benefit from regular attention at home. A little care, often, can help reduce plaque build-up, keep breath fresher and support healthier gums.

Tanya is trained in teeth cleaning and uses the Emmi-pet ultrasonic toothbrush, which is silent, gentle, and does not involve abrasive scrubbing. When used with a specialist ultrasonic toothpaste, it helps clean your dog’s teeth in a calm, comfortable way.

It is not a replacement for veterinary dental treatment when needed, but it can be a helpful way to maintain your dog’s teeth between check-ups.

A little bit about Tanya, and the heart behind Paws on Paris.

Tanya’s love of animals started long before Paws on Paris.

Growing up, there were always family dogs around, and from a young age she understood the joy, loyalty and comfort animals bring into our lives. That love continued through many years spent owning, riding and caring for horses, where patience, trust and calm handling became second nature.

Those qualities are still at the heart of everything Tanya does today.

After deciding to retrain as a dog groomer, Tanya spent years learning her craft, building her skills and creating a grooming studio where dogs could feel safe, settled and cared for.

For Tanya, grooming is not just about washing, trimming or styling. It is about understanding each dog as an individual. Some need reassurance, some need a little extra patience, and some simply need a calm voice, a gentle hand and time to feel comfortable.

That is what Paws on Paris is built around.

A lifelong love of animals, a calm, caring approach and a groomer who truly wants every dog to feel happy, safe and loved while they are here 💛

A fresh groom is always lovely to see, but for me, it is about much more than the finished look.

Every dog that comes to Paws on Paris has their own personality, their own little ways, and sometimes their own worries too. That is why I always take the time to make each visit feel calm, gentle and reassuring, just like I did with lovely Tilly.

Whether they are confident, nervous, playful or a little unsure, my aim is always the same: to help them feel safe, cared for and happy throughout their groom.

Because when your dog feels relaxed, the whole experience becomes so much better, for them and for you 💛

A little look inside the refreshed Paws on Paris studio.

Over the last week, we’ve been making some changes to create an even calmer, comfortable and more spa-like space for every dog who comes through the door.

The studio has been designed to feel relaxed, warm and personal, because grooming should never feel rushed, noisy or stressful.

Every dog is different, and Tanya has always believed in taking the time to understand each dog’s temperament, coat and confidence level. The refreshed space helps support that calm, one-to-one approach.

There are still a couple of finishing touches to complete in the wet room this week, but we’re almost there.

First puppy session for Maple at Paws on Paris 🐾

A puppy’s first grooming visit is such an important milestone.
