Tanya recently had three very special little visitors in the Paws on Paris studio: Doris, Reggie and Winnie.

They are Papillons, and surprisingly, they are the only Papillons Tanya currently grooms. But what they lack in numbers, they certainly make up for in personality.

Papillons are known for being bright, lively, affectionate little dogs, with those beautiful butterfly-like ears that give the breed its name. They may be small, but they are often full of confidence, curiosity and charm.

Doris, Reggie and Winnie are fantastic little characters, each with their own expression, their own ways, and, quite often, their little tongues making an appearance too.

These three little monkeys brought so much joy to the studio, and they were an absolute pleasure to groom.

A warm welcome to Teddy.

On Tuesday, Tanya welcomed lovely Teddy into the Paws on Paris studio for his first groom with us.

Teddy is a 7-month-old Cavapoo and such a wonderfully affectionate young dog. He really enjoyed spending time in the studio with Tanya, having a fuss made of him and settling into the gentle rhythm of his groom.

Cavapoos often have soft, beautiful coats that can suit a lovely teddy-style cut, keeping them looking full of character while also helping the coat stay manageable and comfortable.

For young dogs like Teddy, these early grooming experiences are so important. They help build trust, confidence and positive associations, so grooming becomes something calm and familiar as they grow.

Teddy was an absolute little star, and it was a joy to welcome him into the Paws on Paris community.

Well done, Teddy. You looked gorgeous 💛💛

Yesterday Tanya welcomed new customers Ann and Mark into the Paws on Paris studio with their gorgeous Miniature Schnauzer, Fliss.

Fliss is 6 years old and was such a lovely dog to groom. She enjoyed having a little fuss made of her, happily accepted a few treats along the way, and settled beautifully into the studio.

Miniature Schnauzers are wonderful little dogs, often known for being bright, alert, affectionate and full of personality. They have such a distinctive look too, with those expressive eyebrows, neat beard and smart, structured shape.

Their coat needs regular care to keep it comfortable and tidy, especially around the legs, beard, eyebrows and paws. These are the little details that help keep the classic Schnauzer character while making sure the groom suits the dog’s lifestyle and comfort.

Fliss was an absolute pleasure to have in the studio, and it was lovely to welcome her, Ann and Mark to Paws on Paris 💛💛

Little Alfie came into the Paws on Paris studio yesterday for his groom with Tanya, and what a sweetheart he was.

Alfie is a 14-year-old Shih Tzu, a breed known for being affectionate, loyal and full of character. Shih Tzus were originally bred as companion dogs, and they still have that lovely people-focused nature today.

Their coats need regular care to keep them comfortable, especially around the face, ears, legs and paws. For older dogs like Alfie, grooming is also about taking a little extra time, working gently and making sure they feel calm and settled throughout.

At Paws on Paris, every dog is treated as an individual: from lively puppies to senior dogs who simply need a kind, patient approach.

Alfie was a little star, and he left looking fresh, tidy and ready for the weekend. Well done, Alfie. You looked gorgeous.

Lovely Ruby, the Tibetan Terrier.

Today Tanya welcomed Ruby back into the Paws on Paris studio for her groom.

Ruby is a Tibetan Terrier, a breed known for being affectionate, intelligent, lively and full of character. Despite the name, Tibetan Terriers are not true terriers. They were originally bred in Tibet as companion dogs and watchdogs, valued for their loyalty, alert nature and close bond with people.

They are also known for their beautiful coats. Traditionally, Tibetan Terriers have a long, flowing coat with plenty of hair around the ears, tail and body. It is part of what gives them such a distinctive look, but it also needs regular care to keep it comfortable and tangle-free.

Ruby is an active dog, so her owners prefer a shorter, more practical cut on her body to help keep her coat manageable day-to-day. Her ears and tail are kept closer to the traditional style, so she still keeps that lovely Tibetan Terrier character.

That is what a thoughtful groom is all about: understanding the breed, the coat, the dog’s lifestyle and what works best for their owner too.

Dogs are never far from Tanya’s mind.

Even while away for a few days in Bilbao, Tanya still found herself drawn back to dogs, grooming and the little details that make a grooming experience feel special.

First stop, of course, was the famous Puppy outside the Guggenheim. Now that would be quite the grooming challenge.

Then, while exploring the city, Tanya came across Rangel’s, a beautiful dog grooming salon run by a brother and sister from Venezuela. They offer dog grooming alongside high-end dog accessories, and it was lovely to step inside, chat, share ideas and talk about grooming, marketing and running a small business.

It is always inspiring to meet people who share the same passion for dogs, care and thoughtful service.

For Tanya, grooming is not just a job. It is something she thinks about, learns from and brings back into the Paws on Paris studio.

Tanya had two lovely Bedlington Terriers in the studio this morning for their grooms: Cosimo and Lilli.

Lilli is actually Cosimo’s daughter, which makes it even lovelier to welcome them both in together.

Bedlingtons are such a distinctive breed, with their elegant shape, soft curly coat and that unmistakable lamb-like look. They were originally developed in Northumberland, around the mining town of Bedlington, and were once known as hardy little working terriers.

Behind that graceful appearance is a proper terrier spirit. Bedlingtons are often bright, affectionate, lively and full of character, with a lovely mix of elegance and energy.

Their coats need regular care too. That soft, woolly texture can grow quickly and needs careful grooming to keep it tidy, comfortable and true to the breed’s shape.

Cosimo and Lilli are long-standing Paws on Paris customers, and it is always so lovely to welcome familiar faces back into the studio.

Their owner was also kind enough to say how much they have enjoyed the recent Paws on Paris Facebook posts, photography and design, which really means the world.

Our page is not just about showing finished grooms. It is about sharing the care, calm and personality behind every dog who visits Tanya.
