Back in early March our little corner of the world shattered.
Our precious Tillie dog crossed the rainbow bridge peacefully after over 18 years with us.
We knew she couldn't stay with us forever, and I really tried not to let anticipatory grief steal the last of our time together.
We were devastated, she had been with us through so many stages of our lives, through great times and the saddest of days too.
She was my quiet comfort during the losses of the last year, a steady presence to my husband as he dealt with the changes to many aspects of our lives and provided us both with a small, but constant anchor.
The evening after she passed, she visited us to let us know she had crossed the bridge and was happy. She came back the next night too, quietly, just to reassure me she was well again.
She has returned since, to ask for pizza bones (which she of course got) and to approve our new puppy.
She has not been replaced.
She touched so many lives, often without us realising just how much.
She was a legend, and in that space, she will never truly die.
