Paws and Play Paddock is a 1/2 acre 4ft 5 high fenced dog exercise field with activity points to enjoy interacting with your dog. An enclosed space where dogs can be allowed off lead away from livestock, roads and pathways. Exclusive use hire or hire for group meets and training. Secure off road parking. water, poo bags and bin provided amount other things. Organised play dates can be arranged.

Hot weather means we close our gate in the hottest parts of the day. ☹️ sad for our income but much safer for the dogs 🐶

we reschedule or cancel slots if the weather looks to be too hot, and we keep a close eye on it, but even with our shaded areas and the pool, it’s still not enough for some dogs and I would never forgive myself if a dog got heatstroke while here. 🐾 ❤️ 🐾

So I’m sorry if you cant find any slots available some days during this summer or that I may contact you to reschedule or even cancel your pre booked slot due to the heat.
(Full refund or reschedule available for ‘it’s too hot’ cancellations)

We feel leaving the slots available during the heat would be irresponsible of us. We are very sorry for any inconvenience incurred 😔

This heat has only just really started and dogs haven’t been able to acclimatise to it.
So We block them off as soon as we know it will be too hot and reopen them if things are looking to cool off sooner. We discourage ball throwing, social/dog meet ups to prevent overheating from running around and encourage shorter slots where possible.

One of the reasons our paddock is so great is its now well shaded a lot of the day, and your not spending too long out of shade while getting from one end to the other or enrichment spots . Happy paws!!

Good news though! Next week looks amazing for doggy activities and play…. If you can time it between the possible rain storms

This weather really hits our industry hard.

Over the last few days, many of us in the dog industry have had to make the decision to cancel classes, workshops, walks, training sessions, daycare activities and events.

As small businesses, every cancellation has an impact. We lose income, spend hours rearranging schedules, and often absorb costs that can’t be recovered.

But dog welfare will always come first.

No class, walk, workshop or training session is worth putting a dog at risk. When temperatures soar, our responsibility is to keep dogs safe, even when it’s the harder business decision.

So today, I’d love to shine a light on the amazing small businesses who are also putting welfare first. If you know a dog trainer, walker, daycare, groomer, physio, hydrotherapist, pet sitter or any other pet professional who has been affected by the heat, tag them below and give them a follow.

Supporting small businesses costs nothing, but it can make a huge difference.

We find ourselves running very low on WET dog food. With numerous dogs to feed this is a concern for us.
