EASY NOW Dog Behaviour Services. Eric Filler CBATi, Dip. Progressive reinforcement dog behaviour modification and training. A little about me. Member of.

Hi my name is Eric Filler and welcome to my page for Happyhunde dog training. I have been around dogs all my life, mainly German Shepherds, I spent 10 years as a police dog handler training dogs in the art of tracking (man trailing) hard surface, pattern, and operational tracking also search work all aspects, building searches for persons, article searches both operational and trial stand

ards, open area searches for persons and of course bite work. I am now studying for a diploma in training dogs and am focusing on aggression problems. I am committed to using only scientific, force free based training techniques and focus entirely on the the dogs welfare and happiness. I DO NOT use any training techniques that require the use of SHOCK COLLARS, PRONG COLLARS, CHECK CHAINS or any other device that causes alarm or distress to a dog. I have never used a shock or prong collar at anytime in my life and do not see any need for them. There are far better ways to train animals that do not cause any harm. We offer training using force free methods for all dogs and owners on a one to one basis. We also offer training in tracking and search work for you and your dog. Vomiting is common in dogs. It can be down to something as simple as your dog eating their dinner too fast, but it can also be a sign of something serious 🤢

Find out what your dog's vomit could mean with our guide. If you're ever concerned about your pet, get in touch with your vet.

Apparently positive trainers are causing more dog bites because we are woke.

Well… if being “woke” means:

• I don’t frighten dogs
• I don’t hurt dogs
• I don’t intimidate dogs
• I don’t call fear “respect”

Then yes. I’m wide awake and proudly woke🐾

Let’s get something straight.

Positive, science-based training does not create aggression. It reduces it.

When we reward behaviours we want, we build trust.
When we lower stress, we lower reactivity.
When dogs feel safe, they don’t need to defend themselves.

What increases bite risk?

• Fear
• Pain
• Suppression
• Punishment without understanding
• Ignoring emotional wellbeing

You can absolutely interrupt behaviour.
You can absolutely set boundaries.
You can absolutely teach manners.

You just don’t need force, fear or fallout to do it.

The evidence is clear: when you suppress warning signs through punishment, you often remove the growl… not the discomfort. And when the warning disappears, bites can happen “without warning.”

I don’t train dogs to obey me.
I train dogs to feel safe with me.

If that makes me “woke,” I’ll wear it like a badge on my SkellyWAGS hoodie.

Because trust is not weakness.
Kindness is not indulgence.
And science is not a trend.

It’s just good dog training.

Traditional temperament assessments operate like someone describing every human as either "introverted" or "extroverted." Imagine trying to understand your best friend, your teenage nephew, and your elderly neighbor using only those two categories. You'd miss everything that makes them who they are – their specific fears, their unique motivations, the nuanced ways they navigate the world.
Yet this is exactly what we've been doing to dogs for decades.

When we use these "big bucket" systems, we create a false equivalency between dogs whose behaviors stem from entirely different sources. Dog A scanning for birds isn't experiencing the same internal state as Dog B processing scent information. Their training needs, their ideal environments, their stress triggers – everything differs. But the assessment tool sees only surface behavior and assigns them identical scores.

This oversimplification isn't just academic frustration. It has real-world consequences.

My job is being a dog trainer. Not social media content creator.

Real Life, Not Reel Life

Most of my days don’t look like a highlight reel.
They look like real people, real dogs, and real emotions.

They look like:

A nervous dog taking one brave step forward
A guardian quietly saying, “This is the first time they’ve coped with that”
A pause to breathe because something felt big
A moment of connection that would be completely ruined by someone reaching for a phone
And honestly? Those moments matter far more than likes.
