👀What has Irish Dancing got to do with training your horse??🍀🐴

📆Come to my talk on Monday 7th July at 6.30pm, Tilefield Equestrian, Brockenhurst. Tickets cost just £15!

💬We will be discussing:
- The natural movement patterns of the horse and why that might not work with our equestrian sports/activities.
- How a horse learns to stay on a straight line and hold a circle
- What are the first 4 conversations in AlignmentHORSE training
- And what the similarities are with learning how to do Irish dancing and teaching your horse! 😆

NOW IN STOCK - SPIRULINA POWDER! 👀

I am now selling spirulina powder in 1kg, 3kg and 6kg compostable bags on my website, for collection or shipping.

Spirulina is a true powerhouse supplement, containing proteins, vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants.
It can be used to support immune function, muscle building, the central nervous system and detoxification.

I often suggest the use of spirulina for 6-8 weeks to help support the kidneys with detoxification, so combine this with kidney supportive herbs.

You can also use spirulina in a water buffet, and check out my horses inspecting the bucket!!

"Feeding for Horse Health - What should we feed and what should we avoid?"

Lorraine Dearnley (Coppermead Equestrian Services) started off her working life as a Haematologist, but then changed career completely to work with horses. She is qualified as a Masterson Method Practitioner, TBT multi-functional therapist, and also uses other techniques including red light therapy and fascia release. She started developing her knowledge into hindgut and metabolic health of horses when one of her own developed laminitis and then trained with Dr Christina Fritz. Recently Lorraine has also started training with Liz VanRoss and the AlignmentHORSE approach as she believes this is an important piece of the holistic approach.
Lorraine can help advise you on what to feed to improve the hindgut health of your horse and also stocks feed and herbal products that can help you achieve this. She can also help with management, exercise, movement analysis and bodywork.

I am currently in France, studying/training for the next 7 days in the AlignmentHORSE approach with Liz VanRoss.

Today I spent the morning studying with Liz indoors and then in the afternoon working with two of her horses, which were very different!!

The weather is not quite as warm as the U.K. but luckily I have brought some warm clothes with me! 😂

Keep a look out for more updates and photos/videos, and then I will be able to chat to you all and get you started with your horses on my return. 😊

Have you seen our new herbal products? 👀

We are pleased to announce that we are now stocking Yarrow, Meadowsweet, White Willow Bark, Eyebright and Chia Seeds.

Yarrow - a bitter herb, so good for hindgut health, promotes blood circulation in the extremities, reduces muscle spasms in the digestive system and has mild sedative properties, to name just a few of it's powers!

Meadowsweet - this was the first herb that aspirin was produced from as it contains salicylic acid. It is often suggested for arthritis, gastric ulcers, inflammation, pain and some lung issues.

White Willow Bark - this also contains natural salicylic acid so is often suggested for inflammation and to reduce pain.

Eyebright - this can help to reduce mucous production around the eyes and sinuses, especially with seasonal issues. It can be added to feed or used externally as an eye compress.

Chia seeds - these have a rich nutrient profile, containing omega-3 fatty acids, fibre and antioxidants. These can be very useful fed in small quantities.

I am planning on making loads of educational videos on my herd, track life, hindgut health, laminitis, grass, KPU, PSSM, herbs to help horses, alignment work etc

Make sure you subscribe to my YouTube channel if you want to be updated with each new video!

Also, let me know if there is something that you would like to learn more about and I will add it to my list. Watch out for an introductory video this week! 🙂🐴

Hi Everyone. My name is Lorraine Dearnley and my passion is helping horses in any way I can. I first started off training in the Masterson Method as I needed to help my horses more, especially my really tricky mare Evie. I then added extra modalities to my knowledge. A few years ago, Evie had really...

SPOTLIGHT ON CHOPPED DANDELION LEAF!

My horses are currently loving chopped dandelion leaf and mobbing me for it when I offer it via self selection! Watch the video in the link below to see them arguing over it!

This is a great herb to use at this time of year, as it can help with kidney function and balance the fluids in the body. It can be used as a gentle detoxification which is great to use whilst horses are moulting.

This is available in 1kg, 3kg and 6kg bags so you can offer plenty to your horses or alternatively put a handful in their feed if you would prefer.

You can also use this herb in a water buffet but it is best to make up a herbal tea daily to add to the water, rather than just putting the dried herb in the water (there will be more info and videos on how to do this later on).

Contact me if you would like more information on what herbs would suit your horse at the moment or how to use them.

My Story

I undertake equine bodywork treatments using the Masterson Method®, Tucker Biokinetic Therapy, Red Light Therapy and Kinesiology taping. Treatments cost £40 for an hour and a half, but there are special offers on here or my website.

I also have personal experience of dealing with horses with stomach ulcers and PSSM. I have spent a lot of time researching equine gut health, which is essential for well being of the horse.

I also work closely with Amanda Barton, who can help with the essential role of getting the horse to move correctly after treatment, for long term benefits. She uses a variety of techniques and is working closely with Jec Aristotle Ballou.

I also stock and sell St Hippolyt and Haven feeds, which are good quality European feeds. It is important to maintain the gut of the horse, and these can definitely help. Please contact me if you would like more information.
