Eugene… where do I start? ❤️
Eugene has been coming with me for the best part of a year now, And the amount of love this little man gets, both through my social media and when we’re out walking, people stop us to make a fuss and to find out more about him, which is so lush to see! That’s why I call him the peoples champ 💙
When Eugene first came to us, I never thought he’d get close to a group walk.
He had zero recall, wasn’t particularly comfortable around other dogs and started out with 1-1 walks on the lead.
From there, we took our time. Regular walks 2-3 times a week, building recall, confidence and trust through consistency and repetition. Most importantly, we never rushed him into something he wasn’t ready for.
Over time, I noticed a huge change in how Eugene approached on coming dogs. He became calmer, more confident and much more comfortable in their presence.
So today, we decided the time was right…
Eugene’s FIRST EVER Woofpack group walk!
Matching dogs correctly, reading body language and knowing when to give space are all crucial when introducing a dog to a group for the first time.
And today, Eugene showed us he was more ready!
He absolutely smashed it and I couldn’t be prouder of my little mate 💙🐾
