So we finally have the start dates of our classes!

Puppy Classes are now a 6w course for pups under 6m starting 22/03/22. Pups must have had their 1st vaccination to attend.

Puppy Plus Classes are a 6w course and is for dogs of 6m+ (with no upper age limit) or for graduates of our Puppy Primary course starting 23/03/22. Dogs must be fully vaccinated to attend.

Both classes will have 3 classes with a 2w break over Easter and the following 3 after the break.

Dates for the following set will also be added shortly. If classes book up we will see about adding more.

For more info call Afon Vets or email [email protected] to add your email to the list so we can forward sign up paperwork to you. Your place is only secured once payment has been made.

Those who had their classes paused will be contacted.

We will also be offering 1:1 sessions as unfortunately many pups/dogs will not benefit in a class setting. If you think this may be your dog please contact me on above email with a contact phone number.

Looking forward to seeing you guys and your beasties, it's been a looong 2y without classes and we can't wait to start again 😁

We see accidental poisoning in pets all year round and probably the most common is chocolate and grapes/raisins. We see a dramatic increase over the Easter period (just like at Christmas).

Please be extra careful and keep your furry friends safe this Easter and keep those Easter Eggs and Hot Cross Buns safely out of reach.

If your pet does ingest any of these please call your vet for advice.

Also think of our poor vets and nurses who have to clean up messes like this! What goes down must come up! 🤮
£1 Easter Egg = £100+ to come back up!

The last 12 months have been hard on all of us, including our canine family members. Working all the way through and the insanity of how busy we have been has meant taking a necessary break from social media, professionally and personally.

Now, things are still crazy busy, but with more settled hours I have more time to devote to my beasties and also to be more proactive on here to be of help to you all.

April is National Pet Month so I have decided to make an effort to prioritise working with my own dogs. They have had to cope with me doing very long hours and (in my small amount of down time) being exhausted, with little time to focus on them as much as I usually do.

With this in mind, I thought I'd share what I am doing with all of you as it might give you some ideas of things to do with your own pups and dogs.

I will add some useful tips, hints and advice along the way too so check back!

(For those eagerly waiting for classes or who we had to pause their class, we have not forgotten about you, we are still waiting to know when we can re-start these. We are even more desperate to get back to these than you all are!)

We appreciate how hard a time this is to have a new puppy and the many questions you may have.

With all vets including ourselves operating a closed door policy and essential visits only, alot of you may feel that your questions don't warrant a phone call at this time.

This will give you a chance to get those questions answered.

Thank you for your patience at this time, we all can't wait to get back to normal (mostly for puppy/dog cuddles tbh 😂😍).

Sorry for any inconvenience caused, we're gonna miss seeing those cute puppy faces xx

The handsome Dewi was this groups competition winner! Worked hard (when not occupied with his trouble buddy Gunner) and always ready to give you a cuddle and mug me for treats 😂

I'm catching up...finally

This was our last graduating Puppy Plus class of last year. All of this class came to our Puppy Classes and half had only graduated the week before. I loved seeing them for an extra 6 weeks 😁😍

Next weeks Thursday Puppy Plus Class still has a couple of spaces left.

Nobody wants to be out in weather like this...except spaniels...and my own crazy beasties 😂

It is however a perfect opportunity to concentrate on training and brain games instead.

Working your dogs brains as well as their bodies is essential for a happy, healthy dog. It has also been proven that when given the choice between provided food and food they have to work for; they prefer the food that requires effort.

Healthy treats, fruit/veg and even their own dog food can be used.

Useful for dogs of all ages:
- to keep a busy puppy occupied
- to help dogs who are on restricted exercise
- older dogs who can't manage as much physical exercise as they used to
- dogs on weight control programmes or gutsy puppies to make their meals last longer.
