🐾 Pet First Aid Level 2 (VTQ ) Training 🐾

It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with Ashlyn and Dylan on Thursday, delivering Pet First Aid training.

Congratulations to Ashlyn, who successfully completed the 4-hour Pet First Aid course and achieved her Pet First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) Certification! 🎉

As with all my courses, which I deliver on a 1:1 basis or to groups of up to 12 people in clients’ homes or business premises, Dylan was more than welcome to join in the training too. 🐶

Ashlyn owns The Story Dog in Nantwich, and Dylan is currently training to become a therapy dog. He is such a calm, patient, and loving dog, and it’s clear he’s already doing an amazing job. You can follow Dylan’s journey here: https://www.instagram.com/the_storydog?igsh=eGNlMXFkeXg2Z3M2

🐾 Pawcation Pet Services and Pet First Aid Training 🐾

🌡️ How hot is too hot? 🌡️

At Pawcation this week, we have informed all clients that no dog walks will be taking place during the extreme temperatures. Instead, we are offering welfare visits where dogs can have a toilet break in the garden, relax in a shady area, or enjoy indoor play if it is too hot outside.

We have also asked owners to ensure dogs in crates are moved away from sunny rooms, blinds are closed, fans are available to help keep them cool, and that plenty of fresh water is always available.

Every single client has completely supported this decision — because keeping dogs safe always comes first. ❤️

Some of our lovely clients have even been making blueberry ice lollies for their doggies, which they absolutely love! 🫐🐶❄️

The biggest risks in this weather are:🐾 Burnt paws from hot pavements☀️ Heatstroke

🚨 Signs of heatstroke:• Excessive panting• Drooling• Red gums or tongue• Lethargy• Vomiting or diarrhoea• Wobbling or collapse

❗ If you suspect heatstroke:• Move your dog somewhere cool immediately• Offer small amounts of cool water• Use cool wet towels on paws, tummy and neck• Contact your vet urgently

As well as owning Pawcation Pet Services, I am also a ProTraining First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) Instructor, and I am passionate about helping owners keep their pets safe and well.

Please remember — if it feels too hot for you, it is definitely too hot for your dog. 🐶☀️

Let’s talk about Ticks ✔️

I was out walking Digby through a corn field the other day and it reminded me how important it is to check ourselves and our dogs for ticks after walks in long grass or fields.

Luckily neither of us had picked any up!

Ticks attach to the skin and feed on blood, potentially spreading Lyme disease, which can make dogs very poorly.

What to look out for:

• Small dark specks attached to the skin
• Larger grey/brown ticks once full of blood
• Common areas: ears, neck, under collars, between toes and under legs

Signs of Lyme Disease:

• Limping or swollen joints
• Tiredness
• Fever
• Loss of appetite

Removing a tick:

Use a proper tick removal tool, grip close to the skin and pull slowly upwards. Avoid squeezing or twisting the tick.

At Pawcation, I run ProTraining Pet First Aid Level 2 (VTQ) courses:
✔ 1:1 or groups up to 12
✔ Interactive and practical
✔ Delivered in your home or workplace
✔ Only £60 per person

Learners also receive:
• Pet First Aid Manual
• Weekly refresher videos
• Ongoing support from me

🐾 Pawcation Pet Services – Walk Review 🐾

One of our amazing team members, Carolyn, decided to record a little “walk review” with Cola & Pepsi after their latest adventure 🐶🐶

At Pawcation, we believe you should always feel connected to your pet’s day. That’s why we provide regular pupdates after every walk – including photos and videos – so you can feel happy and reassured that your lovely pooches (and cats 🐱) are being well looked after.

If you’d love your furry family to receive this same care, attention, and love, please get in touch 🐾
