Classical dressage workshops for you & your horse 🐴🧘‍♀️💚

Saturday 19th April 1pm - 3.30pm
Saturday 10th May 9.30am- 12pm

Come to learn & start Classical Dressage

Theory explained & demonstrated.
Then the clinic (stable available separately)

These workshops are progressive.
In small groups we cover the theory (chapters below) I will demonstrate and guide you and your horse through the practical sessions, starting the process and we will then summarise the work, to be continued at home.

We will cover the principles of classical dressage.
The foundations of classical dressage for the horse.
The lateral movements - names and definitions.
Flexions, contact and the half halt
The aids and timing of aids from the rider

Starting with in hand bridle work and how to start.

strengthening, suppling and softening flexions and steps for the horse.

This incredibly beneficial way of training is not just for ‘dressage’ horses….
We use lateral exercises to supple and mobilise the horse throughout his body.

Having a soft, strong, well balanced horse means he’s fit for riding and will find his work easier as well as understanding it.

This is very good for ALL horses.

Instructions and assistance given for you and your horse.

To book your place on the workshop please WhatsApp Kay on 07411046795 or pm 🤠

£80 payable on booking 🙏

Groundwork, halter and rope based, This is a practical and theory based course.

The skills being taught will be as follows:

Herd language and communication
Why we do Groundwork
Learning to fit and tie the halter correctly

Your positioning and body language on the ground.
The the foundation program and and the start of it in practical lessons with my willing boys.

In our small group we shall go through what ‘respect’ training is and what it is to the horse.

We will work with my horses covering the foundation program.
Lunging for respect, how and why I lead the horse the way I do.

Back up and why it’s important.

Controlling the hind quarters, the engine and why.

We will cover how to use the equipment effectively such as the halter and long rope.

You will go home with a good introduction to groundwork and where it starts.

You are then open to participate in the follow on stage course. I recommend getting onto a ‘skills and drills’ clinic to further your equipment techniques and they’re great fun.

Young Horse Groundwork Clinics this Spring…

Talent of the Horse
£45 1 hour long

Saturday 5th April 11am-12pm
Tuesday 13th May 5pm-6pm
Tuesday 24th June 5pm-6pm

This clinic is with your horse at my facility just outside Nantwich

It’s great experience for any horse, giving you the opportunity to take your horse out and train. In an environment he can ask questions and learn with his experiences.

Finding relaxation for the horse and for next time. Not ‘surviving’ the event, but enjoying the experience 😉

Manners and good behaviour at shows and gatherings are taught, when the horse understands the situations it will relax and grow in confidence with each good experience.

In our small group we shall work on foundation topics.
Covering foundation topics relevant to the participants.
These may include…

Controlling the hind quarters, the engine and why.

Standing still quietly in a group

Leading politely and reliably

Back up, from pressure and without pressure and why this is important.

Lateral flexions and start some lateral steps if relevant.

Gaining clear communication between you and your horse.
Learning to soften the horse and work with them from the ground effectively and progressively.

This is fantastic for young horses starting their education and journeys out. This is good for all partnerships, learn and grow confidence together with a strong foundation of communication.

To move onto working around one another softly, having the ‘tools’ to enable your horse to ‘focus’ and learn. Applying your ‘Ground rules’ when out in a positive, structured way when away from home.

This one is for everyone wanting to learn groundwork.

Please get in touch with any enquiries, for more info or to book on here or Kay on 07411046795
