June is National Microchipping Month!

Having cats and dogs microchipped is a legal requirement in England. It is also essential that it is registered and the details are up-to-date.

Don't forget to change your details, especially your phone number and address, if they have changed.

Make sure that if your pet is lost and the chip is scanned, you can be contacted.

A little update from me… I’m no longer taking on new dog sitting clients for the time being.

I want to ensure that if I'm taking on new dog sitting clients, I have the time to get to know them properly and the reality is that at the moment, I just don't have time to do this. I also want to make sure that I have availability for my current clients.

I still have some availability for dog walks, particularly on Mondays and Fridays, as well as cat and small animal visits.

I'll update my social media, to let you know if my books do open back up for new dog sitting clients.

There's a specific kind of stress that pet owners know all too well.

The panic of not being able to find someone reliable, the guilt of going away, the constant worry when you're supposed to be relaxing.

I find this is especially the case for horse owners. Finding a freelancer who actually shows up when they're supposed to? Easier said than done.

Lots of horse owners have told me how difficult is to find a reliable freelancer, especially because of the knowledge needed to look after horses. It's not as simple as just asking someone to feed a horse, their health and welfare needs to be monitored and checked daily.

These are the clients that I love helping the most, because I know how much it means to finally be able to go on holiday, or even just take an afternoon off, without worrying the whole time.

I pride myself on my reliability, as I know from my own experience, how difficult it can be to find someone that you trust to look after your pets.

Sound familiar? Send me a DM, I'd love to help you finally have the time off that you deserve.

Cats and dogs often come to mind first when booking holiday care, but small animals need just as much care and attention.

I offer check-ins tailored to their individual needs. I make sure that your pet's feeding and cleaning schedules remain the same and that their daily routines are followed.

That way, you can enjoy your holiday, knowing that your pet is being looked after properly, just how you look after them yourself.

Are you planning a holiday? Message me to chat about your pet care needs.

..my equipment.

Something that I always make sure I'm on top of, is checking all of my equipment regularly. This includes: leads, harnesses, collars and seat belts.

I check that there's no damage, weaknesses and that any clasps are working as they should. Anything that's looking worn or isn't working as it should, gets replaced straight away.

Ensuring that all of the dogs in my care are safe, is really important to me, especially when I'm using my own equipment, it's essential that it is in good working order.

Regularly checking my equipment gives me peace of mind and it gives owners confidence, knowing their dog is in safe hands.

This is your reminder to check that your collars, leads and harnesses are in good condtion and don't need replacing.

If you're looking for a walker that takes your dog's safety seriously, drop me a message for more information

Today is National Lost Dog Awareness Day and it's an important reminder to ensure that you can be contacted, if your dog were to stray or get lost.

Please check that ID tags and microchip details are up to date (it's so easy to forget to change your address or contact details).

It’s also worth having a recent photo of your dog saved on your phone, this should be a clear picture of both the front and side of your dog, including any distinctive features.

GPS trackers are also a good investment, they can be attached to your dog’s collar and allow you to see their location in real time. They’re not a replacement for a collar and tag or a microchip, but they can offer peace of mind, especially for dogs who love to explore.

It can be really distressing when your dog goes missing, so taking a few simple steps now can make all the difference in getting them home safely.

If you’d like advice on trackers or how to change your dog's microchip details, feel free to get in touch.
