Part time job in Carberry Kennels - 25 hours per week - Kennel Hand

Carberry Kennels is looking for a part time individual mainly working Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday working split shifts from 7:30-12 and 3-6, however there will be scope for flexibility on days and timings.

The role would include keeping the dogs clean, comfortable, exercised and fed. Carberry Kennels has a large focus on keeping the dogs stimulated, socialised, happy, content and balanced in their surroundings. A large part of the job role therefore involves keeping the dogs active and stimulated with exercise, play and training within the paddocks. Additionally the role would include maintaining the kennels to a high standard and preparing these for the following day while discharging the dogs at the end of the night.

This role would be a great introduction to animal care and for someone who enjoys interacting with dogs. The candidate would need to have an extremely caring attitude, be confident with dogs and have a good focus on their welfare. This job would be an excellent introduction to anyone that is interested in pursuing a career in animal care or veterinary studies.

Carberry Kennels is a small and unique business who would be able to support and educate the individual about animal care. We are able to offer a competitive hourly rate.

Part Time Job in Carberry Kennels - 2 sessions per week - Cleaner

I am also looking for a cleaner for my house, 2 sessions per week for about 3-4 hours per session.
As we are a working dog daycare/boarding facility and I have plenty of my own dogs, the ideal candidate must like animals.

I’m often asked for recommendations for dog walkers, what to look for in a dog walker and how to choose a dog walker.

In an unregulated industry it’s difficult & sadly I see a lot of dog walkers who don’t have the skills, knowledge or experience to keep the dogs in their care safe, either mentally or physically.

Does your walker regularly practice recall, take the time to build groups of dogs who are confident & comfortable in each other’s presence, is able to recognise when they aren’t and have the knowledge to support your dog in the moment.

Does your walker instill safe & appropriate behaviour around other people out walking & their dogs, ensure that individual needs are known & catered for and have the presence of mind to react quickly in an unknown situation to keep everyone safe (imagine coming around a blind corner in a field to find people picnicking with their cat whilst walking 6 dogs…. Yes! Things like this actually happen!

And can they describe to you exactly how they achieve all of these things?
