🧬🦠Kennel Cough🧬🦠
There seems to be, as always, another hit of Kennel Cough maybe doing the rounds at the moment. Dog vaccinated are still likely to get it (just less full on than unvaccinated). If you have multiple dogs, only one of them may show symptoms however the others can still be carriers of it.
It is super infectious, think of it like our common cold/flu and how the flu vaccines work. It can survive on surfaces for a period of time too so your dog doesn't need to have physical contact with any other dog to catch it.
Best practice for if your dog has possible symptoms:
Keep in your house/garden
Wait until they are symptom free for a minimum of 7days before going out again, or coming into the salon - 10 days ideally
Do lots of brain games/training with them as they don't need lots of physical exercise if their brains are being stretched, better to be safe than risk passing it on to a vulnerable pupper. Most vulnerable are the puppies, Older dogs and any with pre existing conditions.
If in doubt if they do or don't and they are due in please give me a shout and we can have a chat!
Thank you
