We love this time of year! The horses find every thing they need in their fields: stubble grazing, trees and native hedgerows to nibble, rushes ( which contain omegas!), scratching posts and deep shade!

Our herd can have some grass at this time of year.
(The grass sensitive ones wear grazing muzzles).
Here they are enjoying the
" aftermath" grazing, now the hay has been taken off the field .
They find their way to the barn to shelter as a group when it gets too hot.

We have spaces!
Our herd leads a natural life style, suitable for horses prone to EMS and Laminitis, whilst encouraging movement and choice on our surfaced track system. We trickle feed organic, late cut meadow hay in double netted, small holed haynets. Horses don't have grass from April to the August and then they are introduced gradually in Late summer by strip grazing mature grasses , herbs, wild flowers and hedgerows over night. Our grass sensitive horses wear breathable grazing muzzles.
We also have the option of overnight grazing for youngsters and seniors who can then spend the day with the herd on the track
Good biosecurity and slow introduction of new horses guaranteed. Please contact us to discuss your horses needs.

Our old, young and one compromised horse benefit from good grazing during the day. They find their own way to the field from their night time paddock , where they are fed haylage.
The rest of our barefoot herd are fed late cut hay in trickle nets on hard standing areas, or loose hay, eating from the ground on our grass track for a few hours per day.

ENOUGH VITAMIN E? 🟩🧐

Grass is a good source of vitamin E.

If your horse or pony is on restricted grazing, be sure to supplement this essential antioxidant nutrient.

Hay and haylage supply insignificant amounts of vitamin E.

Good multi-vitamin and mineral supplements and balancers will supply vitamin E (but check yours!). Ensure at least 1000 IU daily for a 500 kg horse on restricted grass, who is fed hay/haylage.
