Well they say things come in 3’s and here I am sat heart broken for the third time in 5 months.

This will be the first time in 17 years no dog paws will tip tap across the wooden floors and the first time in over 20 years no paws of any kind will tip tap either.

When I was asked if I had sofa space for a poor neglected boy with very little fur, skinny, scabby and with an aroma that would make your eyes water I don’t think any of us expected he would soldier on nearly 6 years. Over time most of his fur came back, his skin settled and his aroma reduced but never fully disappeared!

10 months ago I received the devastating news that not only was Jack in heart failure but he also had what we suspected to be cancer. At nearly 16 years old Jack wasn’t a surgical or chemo candidate. At that time he was given approximately 2 months to live but Jack works to his own timeline and gave me an extra 8 months on top of this. Unfortunately his little heart could not go on any longer and he crossed rainbow bridge.

Jack was the most loving and sweetest natured boy and the best little spoon at nana nap time. I hope the nearly 6 years you spent here made up for the 10 years of neglect you had from your original owner.

Those that have gone before you will meet you at rainbow bridge Smunchkin and no doubt Poppy will give you a rollicking because she went before you and then she will show you round.

Your heart stopped beating and mine shattered into a million pieces. Run free little man.
