Spring is on the way! Miss Ivy was enjoying a bit of sunshine this morning! 🌤️

Her foster mum loves for her to get some outside time at the weekends when she’s not at work.
Ivy is really loving it!

She’s going to see a vet soon for a check up and test her urine again now that she’s had chance to settle in her new home.

It’s not cheap or easy to look after a cat like Ivy and we at Second Chance For Cats - N.E. Wales need our supporters more than ever. As always we appreciate the ongoing support of Michelle's Mobile Cat Grooming Service which helps towards Ivy’s care!

Thank you!

Ivy is enjoying some love and attention on Valentine’s Day (as every day) from her foster mum. She’s doing really well and is showing her true mischievous character! 🤣
I think it’s safe to say she’s settled well in her new home and is benefiting from being able to wander round the enclosed garden.
Thank you to Michelle's Mobile Cat Grooming Service for the support and regular sponsorship for Ivy.

After all the work to get Ivy’s indoor home ready, her new foster mum will be able to get the garden sorted when the weather is better.

The garden is completely enclosed though so Ivy has been able to explore safely under supervision. She’s really loving her new residence and even takes herself back off into her little palace when she has had enough of pottering outside!

We will be updating Ivy’s Amazon wishlist for anyone who would like to donate specifically for her.

I think it’s safe to say Ivy has settled really well and is very content 😻

For those who haven’t seen how Ivy walks, this video is a good example 🐾❤️

Ivy update 😺 Beautiful Ivy is settling well into her cosy new pad and has been enjoying going into her enclosure when the weather's dry to safely explore the outdoors 😻

She’s been saying hello to some of the local kitties whilst outside, but loves to sit inside by the window in the warmth watching the world go by when it gets cooler.

We're so grateful to everyone who has so kindly contributed financially, and volunteered their own time, towards creating Ivy's new home. We couldn't have done it without you 🤍🖤

We're forever indebted to Ivy's previous foster carer, who without her amazing support over the past 18 months, Ivy may not be with us still. Words cannot express our gratitude for everything you have done ❤️

Ivy is being sponsored by Michelle's Mobile Cat Grooming Service. If you have a small business and you would also like to sponsor Ivy please get in touch. We will mention your business on all of Ivy’s posts both here and on the Second Chance main page.

Due to having additional needs, Ivy requires a regular supply of certain items that we have on repeat order, as well as having regular vet visits for health checks. If you would you like to contribute towards these care costs please see below for more details 🐾

Ivy’s new home is taking shape. Trees needed to be cut down, walls, roof and floor repaired. The insulation has been done and waterproof flooring is down. It’s been a long project but we hope to share news of our special girl settling in very soon.

Happy Sunday from Ivy. She’s feeling the temperature changing and is more often found to be snuggling in her little igloo bed 💙🐾

Our beautiful girl is sponsored by Michelle's Mobile Cat Grooming Service.

We are so grateful for regular donations from sponsors and the public, which help provide the things Ivy needs over and above the normal things a cat needs.

If any other business would like to donate on a regular basis and receive a tax deduction for that donation, please message us or Second Chance For Cats - N.E. Wales.

Please share! We need help! (Again!) Ivy needs to move from her current foster home to a new foster home by the end of September 2025. She cannot stay another winter where she is because last winter was very difficult for her fosterer and for those who visited her.

One of our amazing team members, who is also one of Ivy’s best friends, has offered to accommodate her in her summerhouse as a last resort because we have had no other suitable offers and time is running out to move her. The alternative is just too unthinkable while she is still so full of life and happiness. Ivy really wants to live even if she is a bit messy!

Ivy needs a washable floor wherever she is, and needs not to be allowed to jump down from any height. This could severely injure her spine again, so adaptations need to be made to protect her. If anyone could provide a suitable accommodation for Ivy please let us know asap. We are looking for a forever foster home so we will always be very much dealing with Ivy’s vet care etc but she does require extra cleaning.

If nobody comes forward, or even if they do, we are looking for any local businesses or tradespeople who might be willing to donate materials or volunteer some time to insulate the summerhouse, (or someone else’s summerhouse/outbuilding), to ensure the flooring is waterproofed with non slip vinyl and create some enclosed ramps and shelves for Ivy to look out and enjoy being off the ground.

This particular summer house is much smaller than Ivy’s current enclosure so if anyone was also able to create an outside run off the summerhouse it would add so much enrichment to Ivy’s life.

As part of the adaptations, we would love to be able to run an electric cable from the house to the summer house to provide a low wattage electric heat mat for Ivy to keep her warm in the cold months ahead.

Please get in touch and message Second Chance For Cats - N.E. Wales if you are able to help in any way. Ideally someone would be fairly local to Mold area to reduce the amount of time needed to travel.
