We’re at a crossroads.
As the cost of living crisis continues to bite, once again small businesses like ours are on the back foot struggling to keep the doors open. Wholesale prices are soaring (in some cases by 400%!) and even turning the lights on has become a costly business.
Like many other businesses we’re facing a choice. Put our prices up significantly and pass the costs on to you or reduce our running costs. We’re choosing to reduce our costs because the one thing that should be cheap and accessible for everyone is good quality food. But, to continue to provide that we need to make it much cheaper for us to get it to you. This means for a little while we’ll be heading back online.
On a personal level it’s devastating, it feels like a defeat but inspired by kitchen wall plaques and novelty mugs the country over we’re going to ‘keep calm and carry on’ through the storm.
Jumping back into the digital pond with multinationals and their eye watering marketing budgets will be tough but we hope that you can continue to support us and help us raise our flag above the crowd. We built our business on strong morals and we must stand on them. It’s what makes us different.
We’ll still be offering the same free delivery service in Moffat, Biggar and the villages in between alongside our regular postal options on our full range of treats and chews and kitchen King Jon is busy working on some recipes for an exciting new range of biscuits coming your way very soon.
So, it’s not goodbye. In the words of our favourite literary donkey (because who else can you trust to tell you the truth now days) “the nicest thing about rain is that it always stops eventually”. It’s just time for us to put the brolly up.
