⚠️ EXTREME HEAT WARNING ⚠️
With temperatures forecast to reach exceptionally high levels this week, the safety and welfare of the dogs in my care must come before grooming appointments.
During extreme heat, grooming services may need to be adapted, shortened, postponed, or, where appropriate, dogs may be sent home slightly damp to avoid prolonged drying times. Some grooms, particularly those requiring extensive drying, may need to be rescheduled altogether.
Please only travel to appointments if your vehicle has effective air conditioning. Even short journeys can become dangerous for dogs in high temperatures, and cars can heat up rapidly despite windows being open.
For elderly dogs, puppies, brachycephalic (flat-faced) breeds, dogs with underlying health conditions, and any dog that may be more vulnerable to heat-related illness, appointments may need to be postponed until temperatures return to a safer level.
Heatstroke is a medical emergency and can develop quickly, causing severe illness and, in some cases, can be fatal. No groom is worth putting a dog’s health at risk.
Thank you for your understanding and support. Any decisions made regarding appointments will always be based on what is safest for your dog. 🐾
