The handsome Georgie started hydrotherapy with us following his TPLO surgery on his left hind and right hind cruciate disease 🐾

For Georgie, the balls and Mr Ducky are non-negotiables 😂

Unfortunately, Tracey's original page was taken down so please all follow her new one!

Tracey offers not only flyball and agility for all the sporty dogs out there, but also, things like hoopers and scentwork - ideal for those who may not be able to do as much as they used to but still need that mental stimulation!

Two handsome boys in for their check ups this evening! ❤️

Barry is still a baby but his owner is working on being proactive due to his budding flyball and agility career ahead of him!

We've given him a nice age appropriate conditioning plan to set him up for the best possible success and chance to excel.

And Vader is just Vader - everybody's favourite cuddle monster ❤️

One of our youngest and oldest went for their physio checks today.
Both looking good and fitness plan given to Barry

This lovely photo of Otis was sent to me following his TECAR and physiotherapy treatment yesterday.

Otis was diagnosed with TCS (Tethered cord syndrome), which is a condition where there is an abnormal anchoring of the spinal cord within the spinal canal. This causes tension, and the normal gliding movement of the spinal cord is restricted.

Signs of TCS can show up in the form of lameness, pain in the lower back, chewing of the back feet, suddenly sitting during walks, and in some cases, incontinence. Of course, these signs can be linked to other conditions, too. However, we sent Otis off for a dynamic MRI as a result of our suspicions, and TCS was the diagnosis.

He will be having surgery in a couple of months, but in the meantime, we are managing his symptoms and keeping him as comfortable as possible in preparation for his surgery.

He looks pretty darn comfortable to me in this picture! 😂

Thought I would jump on the trend of getting a caricature based on you and your job, and the result is somewhat questionable 😂

My patient doesn't know if it's a Golden Retriever, Corgi, or Jack Russell.

The skeleton has eyeballs, ears, an extremely small scapula, something on its right hind that resembles a hoof, and ribs that reach all the way back to what is a very questionable pelvis - amongst numerous other anatomical abnormalities! As much as physio is great, and I think all dogs can benefit, I think this particular patient might be outside of my skillset! 🤣

What it has got right, though, is my squat positioning that I'm sure you all will recognise by now 🤣

This goofball just decided to make himself at home in the physio room!

This is what happens when a client cancels, so your fiance drops by to bring your own dog to visit you 😂

At least my patients are better behaved than my own dogs 🤣

Listen to that deep sigh 🧘‍♂️

That is Teddy's nervous system processing and integrating. In a world where everybody thinks in order to have an impact, you have to apply deep pressure and dig right in there, light touch and fascial release shows us that its the nervous system that responds first, not the muscles.

Rather than brace themselves and trigger a defensive response, intentional light touch tells the dogs body that it is safe to relax and let go, and sustained contact allows the body to be receptive - not protective.

These techniques support the parasympathetic nervous system by:

- Reducing sensory overload
- Encouraging rest and digest states
- Increasing interoceptive awareness
- Supporting emotional and physical regulation

Tension within the body is then able to unwind naturally.

Many of you know that Teddy struggles with his emotions, so it's lovely to see him so relaxed like this. The not so lovely part was the release of gas during treatment (him, not me 😂), but afterwards, he gave a nice big whole body stretch and then fell deep asleep.

So I repeat...Less is more! Sometimes, the lightest touch makes the deepest change! ❤️

On this handsome lad's first session, he tried to lie down but just kept circling round. It was clear that it wasn't comfortable for him to get into that position.

Fast forward to session 3, following treatment and the hard work his owners have put in at home, he came into the centre and was able to lie down comfortably! His owner also reported that he had been for a walk around the lake with no issues afterwards and they even took him to a secure field where he showed off a few strides of canter - something he hasn't done in a long time!

It may not seem like much, but these small milestones make me so happy. ❤️

In our experience, consistency is key for long-term improvement when it comes to rehabilitation. That is why we have decided to develop rehabilitation packages to help you and your dog achieve the best possible outcomes.

These programmes allow us to track progress and adjust treatment as needed.

Following an assessment, we may recommend one of the following rehabilitation programmes:

Hydrotherapy (10 sessions) - £420
Physiotherapy (6 sessions) - £285
Osteopathy (6 sessions) - £255

Programmes aren't right for every dog, and of course, there's always the option to book individual sessions, but we can guide you based on what's most appropriate for your dog.
