We are continuing our ‘Groomer of the Week’ feature, to highlight someone from the industry to our followers.
Our Groomer of the week this week is the fabulous Amie Gale!
1. Tell us briefly the story of your career so far, and where you find yourself in today.
Hi, my name is Amie Gale I am a multi award winning & best in show dog grooming stylist with a passion for all things dog related. I own K9 Cleaners Pet Grooming in Milton Keynes which was established 12 Years ago. I am probably more known in the competition ring for grooming poodles. In 2023 I received the esteemed Liz Paul award for rising star groomer, in 2024 I was nominated for the up and coming groomer. This year I have received a Global recognition award, Finalists “Animal Star Awards” groomer of the year.
I have hosted a few education events and seminars, I was asked to speak at the international grooming conference 2024. The college of animal Welfare have also asked me to speak for the second year running. Mutneys Professional Pet Care, one of the leading companies in pet grooming industry asked if I would represent them in their competition team for 2024/2025 as well as being a company ambassador for Colin Taylor Products which I am proud to represent.
2. What do you love most about the grooming industry?
For me the grooming industry is being with like-minded individuals that have the same mind-set for dogs and their welfare, I have a passion for learning, this will never stop as the grooming industry is always changing.
3. What are your short and long-term goals?
My ultimate goal, like many competitive groomers is to become a member of Groom Team England and to pass my knowledge on to other groomers new or old. But currently I’m working on getting into Champion level poodle grooming and looking to compete outside of the UK.
4. Please share any advice or words of encouragement you would like to offer fellow groomers?
My advice to any stylist would be, to do as much continuous personal development. Our grooming industry is forever changing I would encourage mentors, seminars, workshops, 1-2-1’s.
Look after yourself and always charge your worth.
We look forward to following Amie on the competition circuit and all her success in 2025!
