When this horse's owner contacted us last week about a swollen jaw, we knew a prompt investigation was important. Within days, our team had attended, taken digital X-rays, and used advanced diagnostic technology to identify the cause of the problem.

Following a clear diagnosis, we welcomed the horse into the practice for a dental extraction procedure. Thanks to prompt action, expert care, and the latest equine dental equipment, the issue was resolved quickly and effectively.

We're delighted to report that recovery is going well, and this horse is now on track for a comfortable, pain-free summer ahead! ☀️🐴

If you're concerned about any changes in your horse's eating habits, facial swelling, or general comfort, don't hesitate to get in touch - early diagnosis can make all the difference.

🦷 GUESS THE AGE! 🐴

This tooth was removed from a horse seen at our equine dental clinic… but can you guess how old the horse was? 👀

The tooth was an un-erupted 408 sitting below the gum line and was successfully removed under standing sedation here at our Veterinary dental surgery- a straightforward procedure with a very happy patient afterwards 😊

EOTRH (Equine Odontoplastic Tooth Resorption and Hypercementosis) is a progressive painful condition affecting the incisors and canines. Unfortunately there is no cure and as the condition progresses it may become necessary to extract some (if not all) incisors. We often get owners being concerned (and rightly so!) how their horse is going to be able to still eat! Amazingly they cope fantastically! Here’s a video of Donny who came into the TEDS clinic earlier this week. The video is taken a couple of hours later that same day, happily munch away on his hay!
