Get your riding boots on!

Our qualified trek leaders will be taking small groups of riders on a one day adventure with our home-bred registered Fell ponies. This day-long hack follows part of an ancient pack horse route with stunning views of Lake Windermere and the Lakeland fells on a scenic circular route spanning approximately 7 miles.

*Please note:
Suitable for competent riders only.
The minimum age for riders is 11 yrs old.
The weight limit for riders on our ponies is 12.5 stone (80Kg).
We are not able to take novice riders as we have no suitable area for schooling.

🥰 Murthwaite Green 2002 - 2023 🥰

Well it’s certainly been a week of mixed emotions. The last beach rides - finally in some dry weather….December has been a tough month!!! Horses have moved to new pastures, all with lovely new owners. Some of the horses will stay here….couldn’t let them all go!!!!
I want to take this opportunity to thank all my family, friends, staff, customers and supporters from over the last 21 years. Because of all of you I have had the most amazing adventure running Murthwaite Green. There have been ups and downs, tears and laughter, and the best of friendships that will last a lifetime.
Thank you all for the messages, cards, gifts and kind words. It really does mean so much. I will certainly enjoy my spa!!!
It’s onto new adventures for me - less mud, less rain, and no more weather watching!!! There’s no doubting, it will be strange but I will enjoy more time with my family and with Ruby.
Thanks again to each and every one of you….it’s been a blast 🥰🏇🥰🏇

What a way to start 2024!!!!
Finally…..we had a dry and sunny beach ride!!!! Long overdue after the last month of snow, wind and non stop rain.
I’m hoping that the last couple of rides will be as dry and enjoyable as todays!!!!

Wishing all my friends, customers, supporters etc a very Happy Xmas. We have battled wind and rain on our Christmas rides this week, so we had to ditch the tinsel!!!

After a week of snow chaos and cancelled rides we finally managed to get out on the first of our festive beach rides 🎄🏇🤶. We stayed dry, but unfortunately the later ride weren’t as lucky 🙈🌧️🌧️

What a weekend!!!! All rides cancelled until at least Tuesday, sooo much snow ❄️❄️. Dogs love it, most horses are in with plenty of hay so happy and warm!
