Did you know that making a dog use their natural instincts is more tiring than a 10 minute walk!?

Learning not to just constantly use her name as a anwser for recall.

When repeating a dog's name because it can lead to what's known as habituation.

When you repeat a dog's name over and over, the dog may start to ignore it or not respond as effectively.

Dogs, like humans, can get used to hearing the same thing repeatedly, and it may lose its significance to them.
To maintain a dog's attention and responsiveness, it's best to use their name selectively and meaningfully.
This helps ensure that when you do call their name, they pay attention and respond appropriately. So, it's all about using their name purposefully to keep it meaningful to them!

So, my advice to the lovely owner was to use really tasty treats.
Allow the dog to think.
Use a whistle when calling or I use the word 'come' or 'here'
Keeping it short and sweet so we don't confuse the dog on what we're asking off them!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

As your aware, the weather is nice, the sun is out we are finally having a summer weather!

However, please don't be an absolute t**t and take your dogs out...

The risks are not worth it!
Please allow them to have access to constant water.

If you can not stand on concrete. Do not wall them.
If you can't stand outside with a fur coat on for more than 5 minutes do not take them out.

Do not leave your dogs in the car either, that quick 2 minutes could lead to your dog dying.

Please think before taking them out!

Good morning everyone!
As well as moving, unpacking, working and having my own doggies and children. It's been crazy!

The page will be back and running from now on 😄

I still have a team member cas working on Wednesdays (dog walking) in Kingston area.

I will still be doing puppy classes.
Reactivity classes.
Lead work.
Heel work.

The list goes on!

With these classes, I will do a meeting point and payments will have to be collected before so we don't over book!

I hope you've all been enjoying the sun and member to keep your pets hydrated especially the short faced breeds such as pugs 🐾 🐾
