I was absolutely thrilled with Crumpet’s test on Friday. For the first time at this level he stayed on side and produced some of the best work he has. We made a couple of mistakes in the simple changes, and one of the medium trots but overall I was over the moon with him. Sadly the judges didn’t share my enthusiasm and after awarding him a non MER score we decided to come home and save him for another day. I am a big believer in fate and although I was absolutely furious to not be carrying on with our day at the time, I do think sometimes the universe does these things to redirect us on to a better path.
We’ve got a slight change of plans to qualify for some autumn goals and in the meantime an absolute bucket loads of dressage training!
