🎆🐾 HAVE YOU BEEN DOING YOUR FIREWORKS TRAINING? 🐾🎆
Fireworks season is here, and for many dogs, those sudden bangs can be frightening because they’re unfamiliar, unpredictable noises. 😔🐶
But what if we could help our dogs learn that these sounds aren’t something to be scared of? ❤️
💥 The goal is to make the unfamiliar become familiar, and the scary become positive!
With the right training, we can gradually introduce firework sounds at a low volume, pairing them with treats, praise and positive experiences. Over time, this can help build confidence and teach our dogs that bangs don’t always mean something bad is going to happen. 🐾
✅ Start at a low volume.
✅ Pair the sounds with treats, play and praise.
✅ Gradually increase the volume only if your dog stays relaxed.
✅ Never force your dog to listen if they’re frightened.
✅ Always give them a safe space to retreat to.
⚠️ Remember, never flood your dog with loud firework sounds in the hope they’ll get used to them. Training should be gradual, positive and at your dog’s pace.
And remember, even with training, some dogs will still need extra comfort and support during fireworks season. ❤️
