The boys were on form at Let 'Em Aff Dog Fields Ltd this morning. So much to sniff and investigate. Even Ollie forgot about his ball to begin with (it didn’t last long mind). Boost was all about the tank and very much enjoys the elevated position so he can observe proceedings and pick his next target. Hamish? Still all about the flowers. I believe he was a long haired flower child in a previous incarnation. Both Blaze & I were soaked to the bone - three times - during our session at his Hap-happy place, Scentral Bark. Despite the monsoon style weather, he needed to show his ball the park through the lens of the longest wettest grass he could find. Four towels at the end and he was still a soggy carpet 😂

Bit cooler today, some of these guys were breathing steam when they got to panting. We stayed mostly dry and there were plenty of smiles to go around. Ivy was trying to entice Boost into her sandpit bo***ir - then telling him to get out the moment he joined her. Poor boy didn’t know which way to turn and tried win her over by delivering toys to her - alas, she remained unimpressed. Patch was delighted to be chasing a ball with nobody trying to steal it or challenge his mastery for a change & in fact did a little stealing of his own to keep Ollie on his toes. Miss Nuala busted out the tippiest of tappies each time she got near the treat pouch - I’m a soft target for her in fairness (it’s the doe eyes along with the dancing 🥰). Boost, having had his advances thoroughly rebuffed, decided that playing hide & seek in the long grass was the grownup way to respond - Ivy did not go seek (I did though, I found him even when his disguised himself as a jungle vine, what a cutie). Scentral Bark stories.
Monty was introduced to little Sweetpea Eevee today. Yogi was a little miffed at first that someone else was muscling in on his rumble time - but he quickly returned to Ambassadorial duties and made introductions. Neither Monty nor Yogi stood a chance when it came to ball skills though, that wee toot can shift like lightning. Also has to be noted that she had Monty butt upwards within minutes. Love days like these.

Warm, humid, black clouds, rain, wrong clothes no matter what I choose - wet hat, shirt, jeans, boots & socks - must be a dog walking day 😂
Sweetpea Eevee continued her attempts to out-patch Patch and pulled it off a couple of times. Patch was very patient with her when she kept stealing the ball after he retrieved it and laying on top of it (I think she was waiting for Patch to pat her down 😂). During the contest Ivy & Yogi were staying close to the treat distribution centre & both spent a good portion of their time flat on their backs with their legs in the air rolling in the wet grass.

‘Twas a soggy one today. Hamish was absolutely adamant he was going to chase a ball with Patch but when it came right down to it he ran about a quarter of the way and then came back and waited for Patch to bring the ball back. The real genius behind it was to then pick up the dropped ball, jump about a bit and then drop it again like he was the one that did the retrieving (cheeky boy then had the front to shout because the throwing of the ball wasn’t fast enough). Ivy & Patch were both highly entertained when Hamish resorted to running dives - sliding through the wet grass - and munching said grass at the same time. Multi talented that one. Blaze was up to high jinks at his Hap-happy place and was bouncing about like his caffeine kick was just peaking. Running and jumping all over Scentral Bark like he was a pup again. Long may it continue.

Ollie was impatient to get proceedings under way this morning - like here are the toys but they’re not moving. WHY ARE THEY NOT MOVING…? Boost, I think for the first time ever, chose a toy that didn’t require a trebuchet to throw it (also a chance to favour the frisbee with Tito on his holibobs this week). Ivy, fully recovered from her sulking & skulking over the previous few days, was back on form and playing - as much as she does - with the rest of the crew. Observation: she sulked when there were other girlies in the pack & came back to her old self when she was back to being the only girl 🤔 I have no further comment 😂. Scentral Bark stories. Hamish sat under a Wishing Tree & wished with all his might that it would rain treats - and would you believe it, rain it did. Proving yet again what a magical little wiggle-floof that boy is. Blaze had his investigating boots on at his Hap-happy place today and was all about the climbing on things.

Another day another opportunity to work on my t-shirt tan 😂
Boost, Ollie & Patch were thrilled that it was a smidge cooler and I was much more cooperative with the ball throwing. Ivy, somewhat grumpy today after taking exception to a tractor across the road, tucked herself into the sandpit. She grumbled at Boost when he approached and Boost (like all the wisest men) acted with a startling sense of self preservation and decided to give her some time alone with her thoughts. Could the vessel of this fledgling relationship be on the rocks already?!? In a generous act of sisterhood, Miss Nuala wandered over to check on her (she may have tried to steal Ivy’s treats - I make no assertion one way or the other) and was solidly rejected. Scentral Bark stories.
Later on (currently my favourite thing to watch) the Yogi & Monty show. Butts up, heads down and full steam ahead. Monty, dapper as always, and definitely getting more of the upper hand today, was put out when Yogi decided to pause for a photo op (I believe he is sponsored by BedHead for Spaniels) and so chose violence against the ball launcher for the first time in weeks - them’s the breaks.

Gorgeous Tuesday brunch pack walk at Scentral Bark with this mellow vibe tribe. After the morning meeting at the sand pit everyone paired off - Boost obviously with Miss Ivy, Yogi & Lily (and surprising everyone present) Patch & Sweetpea Eevee. Genuinely the first time Patch has given a second look to anyone or anything other than the ball since I’ve known him. Another first - Eevee loves a ball, like, enough to challenge Patch for mastery. She’s actually quite the little bottle rocket, who knew. Yogi was his usual frantic self, just a vague mocha coloured blur, everywhere all at once. Lily was first in & last out - did not stop moving, loping round the park with the biggest smile on her face, tongue flying in the wind.
