✨ Meet Sienna – our lovely new Veterinary Care Assistant! ✨

Sienna has recently joined the team and has already become a firm favourite with our patients 💙🐾

She has a real passion for animal care and is always ready with a gentle cuddle (as you can see here with her very cute schnauzer helper 🐶).

You’ll be seeing Sienna around the practice helping with patient care, assisting our vet and nurse, and making sure your pets feel as comfortable as possible during their visits.

🐾 Important Notice: Parvovirus Cases in the Area 🐾

We want to make all pet owners aware that we have recently seen an increase in Parvovirus cases locally. This is a highly contagious and potentially life-threatening disease, particularly affecting puppies and unvaccinated dogs.

⚠️ What you need to know:
• Parvovirus spreads easily through contaminated environments, objects, and even on shoes or clothing
• Symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea (often bloody), lethargy, and loss of appetite
• It can become very serious very quickly without prompt treatment

💉 Prevention is key:
• Ensure your puppy receives their full vaccination course
• Keep vaccinations up to date for adult dogs
• Avoid high-risk areas (parks, public spaces) until your puppy is fully vaccinated
• Always pick up after your dog to help reduce environmental spread

If your dog is showing any signs or you are unsure about their vaccination status, please contact us straight away — early intervention can make all the difference.

We will be closed from Friday through to Monday over the Easter period.

We will reopen as normal on Tuesday.

🐾 We’re Hiring! Veterinary Care Assistant – Metheringham 🐾

We’re looking for a kind, reliable and enthusiastic person to join our friendly, community-focused team at Medivet Metheringham.

No previous veterinary experience needed — just a great attitude, willingness to learn and a genuine love of animal care.

This is a hands-on role, so you’ll need to be practical, proactive and happy to roll up your sleeves — from supporting procedures to keeping the practice clean and organised.

If you’d like to work in a supportive local practice where you can make a real difference every day, we’d love to hear from you.

Over 18s only (Health & Safety requirement).

UPDATE – SPANIEL FOUND ON FRIDAY
The owner has been found! 💛

Thank you so much to everyone who shared our post, sent messages, and helped spread the word. The response was absolutely amazing. We weren’t able to reply to every message, but please know we are incredibly grateful for all the support.

Thanks to the community, this lovely Spaniel is now safely back home.

The Owner has not been found yet. This absolutely lovely dog is going to stay with the dog warden now but if you can share it to the local groups it is much appreciated.

Unfortunately due to GDPR we can not release any more details, although we would love to.

*DOG FOUND*

We’ve had a lovely dog brought into the practice today. They were found locally and are safe and warm.

If you are missing your dog, or know someone who might be, please get in touch with us as soon as possible so we can reunite them with their family. Proof of ownership will be required.

Thank you to everyone who helps spread the word. Let’s get this little one back home where they belong.
