Did you know tortoises can be microchipped?🔎

We had incredible Indi, a stunning Indian star tortoise in with us recently for his microchip. He was such a brave little guy, and an absolute joy for the whole team to see, as tortoises aren't patients that we get to meet very often!🌟✨

October is... World Animal Month🌍
World Animal Month is here - a time to reflect on the incredible animals we share our planet with, from pets to the wildlife just beyond our back doors. This month, why not take small steps to support wildlife in your garden or community? 🐝🦔🦋
Here are a few simple ideas:
- Leave a corner of your garden wild to create habitat for hedgehogs and insects
- Provide fresh water for birds and small mammals
- Pick up litter in your local area

We had the joy of meeting Nimbus, a gorgeous grey kitten, when he came in for his first vaccination.💉🩺

True to his cloud inspired name, he is as soft and sweet as can be, and he completely charmed the whole team during his visit.☁️💖

This month's star is the lovely Lottie, a brave girl we've been seeing over the past few weeks as she recovered from a wound near her bottom. Although it's been healing well, our vet Kristina felt it needed a little extra help, so Lottie came in for a sedation, flush and debridement to give the wound the best chance to heal fully.🩺🐱🧡

She may not have exactly enjoyed us fussing around her back end, but she's been such a superstar patient throughout.✨ We're all so proud of her resilience and spirit.

Well done, Lottie we are wishing you the smoothest and speediest recovery!🌟💖

Toxins your pet should avoid in autumn: Acorns🪵
Acorns are also a choking hazard and can cause intestinal damage if ingested whole. Signs of acorn poisoning to look for include vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and dehydration. In rare cases, untreated incidents of acorn poisoning have led to kidney and liver failure, so always speak to your vet as soon as possible if you suspect your pet has ingested acorns.
