But how do you know if your application of propyzamide is working?

🔊 OSR area rises for harvest 2026 🌼 📈

AHDB’s Early Bird Survey of early plantings and planting intentions shows a 30% rise in the UK oilseed r**e area for harvest 2026 to 316 Kha.
The crop likely benefited from a more favourable outlook compared to other crops, as well as the good yields achieved in 2025 and rotation needs.

⚠️ Current conditions and propyzamide application considerations ⚠️

Recent mild weather means soil temperatures have not declined as much as expected. While upcoming rainfall may bring temperatures down slightly and forecasted weather shows temperatures to drop in the coming weeks, current levels are still not low enough to achieve optimum efficacy from propyzamide.

When planning applications, it is important to consider not only soil temperature but also overall field conditions and the size of grass weeds.

Applying Kerb Flo 500, Astrokerb, or other propyzamide products to oilseed r**e when soils are saturated, or ahead of forecasted heavy rain, significantly increases the risk of surface water contamination due to increased run-off. To help prevent this, growers should delay applications until a weather window allows for better application conditions and use the Kerb Weather app to help identify these opportunities.

With large crop canopies in many places (greater than 90% ground cover) we do not see an impact to efficacy, so this should not be a limiting factor.

🚨Remember - Right Time, Right Conditions, Right Rate.

💭 Y use Ympact® in winter wheat?

Unpredictable UK weather is making winter wheat establishment tougher.
Ympact® boosts micronutrient uptake and metabolic activity - helping crops handle drought, excess moisture and stress.

The result? Faster emergence, stronger growth and better survival into spring. 💪🏼
