🐦 This young Feral Pigeon came into HART after being attacked by a cat. He was later joined by another Feral Pigeon, of a similar age, who was found on the ground with no sign of his nest or parents. The two youngsters are providing each other with excellent company! It is so important for young wildlife to be rehabilitated alongside their own species!

❤️ If you would like to support our work rehabilitating British wildlife, please consider becoming a regular supporter! We receive no statutory funding so rely completely on the generosity of our kind supporters. Every donation we receive makes a huge difference!

We’ve had some great submissions so far! The winning photo will feature as front cover of our 2027 wildlife calendar! Along with 12 runners-up who will also feature in our charity calendar.

Unfortunately, we can only consider photos that have been submitted alongside the entry fee which is a donation of £3 per photo.

All the money raised will go towards our work rehabilitating British wildlife! For more information, please check out our website through the link below.

🐥 Our team has hand-reared lots of young House Martins and Barn Swallows this orphan season! The dry hot weather has made breeding season very challenging for them with nests collapsing because it’s too dry and chicks jumping out of nests because it’s too hot. All of our House Martin and Swallow chicks are ringed by a licensed BTO bird ringer before release, and these young House Martins are almost ready to go!

❤️ Thank you so much to everyone who has donated items off our Amazon wishlist the past few days - we really appreciate your help!

🪶 Our Assistant Manager Amy has hand-reared lots of young Swifts this Summer. This youngster was part of her most recent group who we’re pleased to say are now all back in the sky. He came into HART after being found grounded in someone’s garage! They will soon make their long journey to Africa for migration!

🐥 These Pied Wagtail nestlings came into HART after being found on the ground. As you can see, they are much too small to be out of their nest yet! They will be cared for here at HART until they are independent and able to be returned to the wild.

🐦 This young Wood Pigeon came into HART as a tiny nestling after he was found on the ground alone. He has been tube fed specialist formula multiple times a day by our experienced team but is now reaching an age where he can start learning to feed himself. As you can see, it’s not been too successful so far as he’d much rather sit in his food than eat it!

🐣 We’ve admitted four more baby House Martins who were transferred to us from a local veterinary practice. Very sadly their nest collapsed which is the most common reason for House Martin chicks to end up here at HART. Our team will now care for these youngsters until they’re big enough to return to the wild.

To help House Martins, you could install an artificial nest cup on your home. House Martin Conservation UK & Ireland have some great examples of nest cups on their website:
