🐥 We’re still admitting ducklings! Can you count how many ducklings are in this photo?!

This group of young Mallards were found without their mum. The finders gave them time and space to see if their mum would return but sadly she didn’t so they were brought into us. They were then joined by three more Mallard ducklings the same age who were all victims of cat attack.

🩷 We need a new pump to change the water in our outdoor duck pond! Our pump has unfortunately broken making cleaning the duck pond very challenging. If you would like to help, please consider purchasing us a new pond pump off our Amazon wishlist!

🦉 This beautiful adult Tawny Owl was brought into HART after being found on the side of the road. We suspect he’d been hit by a car as he arrived at HART in severe shock. Thankfully, with no lasting damage, he made a quick recovery at HART and was released back to where he came from!

Please always call before bringing an animal to the rescue. Like all wildlife rescues this time of year, we are incredibly busy and our capacity changes every day. Sometimes we are full for certain species as our resources are unfortunately limited. In these situations, our team will try their best to redirect you to alternative help.

We are a small team and do not have a receptionist so unfortunately we are not always able to answer the phone straight away. Please do try again later, or take the animal to your nearest vet practice in an emergency.

🦅 We’re currently caring for this young Kestrel here at HART. He was found alone on the ground in a warehouse with no sign of his nest or his parents. Very hungry, but thankfully uninjured, he is doing well in our care!

🌿 Our group of young Wrens are now independently feeding themselves so they’ve been moved into one of our outdoor aviaries. This is the final stage of rehabilitation before they will be released back to the wild!

🐾 We’ve admitted this very cute baby Weasel who our team have named Pop. She was found without her mother and was unfortunately the only survivor of her litter. So far, she’s doing well in our care and has a huge appetite for someone so small!

🐣 This tiny chick is a baby House Martin and is our first House Martin of the year!
He was found on the ground having fallen from his nest and was sadly the only surviving chick from his brood.

❓ Did you know that House Martin’s grow feathers on their legs whereas Swallows don’t? This is one of the ways we are able to tell them apart when they’re tiny and they haven’t got their colours yet.
