We've been quiet here on social media, as we picked up full time jobs over the winter months, But as the beekeeping season starts up again and plans behind the scenes for another expansion.. We need your help..

We are seeking new apiary locations in Derbyshire & the Peak District

We’re looking for landowners in Derbyshire and the Peak District who’d be interested in hosting beehives on their land. If you have spare fields, meadows, orchards, or woodland, our bees can help improve pollination and biodiversity while we take care of everything.

What we offer:

Beeswax cappings melting day.

We bought this uncapping table beginning of this year, and it has made our honey extraction run alot smoother. Uncapping every frame into this table before spinning the honey in the centrifugal extractor.

Beeswax is a by product from harvesting honey. If you are interested in buying pure beeswax get in touch, currently at £16 per KG

We have sold out of next years overwintered nucleus colonies.

We do keep a few back for ourselfs to maintain our honey production hives, so if we've overestimated our own needs, we will have some overwintered nucleus colonies become available in March/April

If you are interested in beekeeping still get in touch to be added to our waiting list for 2025 spring nucleus colonies.

A little update as we've been quiet.

We are currently harvesting our summer blossom honey and preparing the bees for winter. It's been an incredible summer wildflower honey harvest this year, the best we have had.

We've almost finished harvesting our summer honey harvest and in the next 2 weeks we will begin harvesting our Ling heather honey.

Our ling heather harvest is looking poor, but we've still got one heather site to check and hopefully they've out performed the rest.

I visited one of our heather sites yesterday and they're filling the boxes nicely with ling heather honey. We've got 130-150 colonies on the peak district moorlands this year, spread out in 5 different apiary locations.

This means we've now got a good stock of honey again and we can offer for sale our 30lb buckets of honey.

Our overwintered nucleus colonies are now 65% reserved.

Are you wanting to start beekeeping? Or are you already a beekeeper and want to expand your hobby into a small buisness ?

We have a limited number of nucleus colonies still available which will be ready April/May 2025.

With overwintered colonies, if managed correctly and the weather allows, you get a honey crop off them in the same year and you'll also beable to perform multiple splits.

£300 for one colony
Or discount available when buying 5+

Options for our own Derbyshire Bred buckfast queens.
Or buckfast lines from other UK breeders and suppliers available.

Also, an update regarding our Derbyshire Buckfast mated queens. They're becoming very popular and if you are wanting a mated queen these need booking in advance, so please register your interest as early as possible if you're wanting Derbyshire Buckfast Mated queens.
