Yesterday I had the pleasure of treating two horses who are both actively in ridden work, with their owners keen to do everything they can to maximise their horses’ comfort and keep their bodies working at their best.

The focus of both sessions was on improving overall suppleness and mobility throughout the body, helping to address areas of tension and restriction and encouraging freer, more comfortable movement.

For horses in regular work, maintaining good flexibility and mobility can be an important part of supporting their physical wellbeing alongside their training. By incorporating regular equine massage, we can help support the body as it develops strength, flexibility and mobility, whilst keeping comfort at the forefront.

It’s lovely to work alongside horse owners who take a proactive approach to their horse’s physical wellbeing — not simply addressing problems when they arise, but helping their horses feel their best as they continue to work and develop, and therefore proactively reducing the risk of injury! 🐎

Comfortable horses move better, feel better and can perform at their best.

🐴 Giving those hard-working glutes some TLC 🍑

A horse’s gluteal muscles play an important role in movement, balance and power, so it’s important not to overlook them during an equine massage session.

These large muscle groups work hard, whether your horse is schooling, jumping, hacking or simply enjoying life in the field. Massage can help to ease muscular tension, encourage relaxation and support comfortable movement.

I love seeing the difference a session can make — from a horse becoming softer and more relaxed, to those little signs that they’re really enjoying the treatment. 💕

Every horse is treated as an individual, with their responses and body language guiding the session.

✨ Because those hard-working muscles deserve some TLC too.

✨ Is your horse showing signs of neck stiffness or discomfort? ✨

A tight, sore neck can affect your horse’s comfort, performance, and willingness to work. Whether they’re competing, hacking, or enjoying retirement, regular massage therapy can help ease muscle tension, improve flexibility, and support overall wellbeing.

Every massage session is designed to help your horse move more freely, feel more comfortable, and perform at their best.

🐴 Benefits of equine massage include:
✔️ Relieving muscle tension and stiffness
✔️ Improving range of movement
✔️ Encouraging relaxation
✔️ Supporting recovery after exercise
✔️ Promoting overall comfort and wellbeing

If your horse has been feeling a little tight through the neck, now is the perfect time to book a treatment.

📩 Send me a message to discuss your horse’s needs or to arrange an appointment.

One of the questions I’m often asked is, “How do you know you’re massaging the right area?”

There are a number of factors I assess throughout every treatment, such as tissue feel, muscle tone, range of motion, posture, and the horse’s overall response. However one of the most valuable indicators, is the horse’s body language and facial expression… and this face says it all!! 😴💪🧘‍♀️
