Personsal message:
There is something I really need to say from the heart. ❤️
As a small, independent animal boarding business, it genuinely breaks our hearts when someone drops their pet off and says things like, “I feel guilty putting my pet in prison.”
Please understand that those words hurt more than you might realise.
This isn't just a business to me. This is my lifestyle. My home. My life. 🐾
Me and my team work incredibly hard, every single day, to make sure every animal staying with us is safe, comfortable, loved, cared for and given individual attention. These aren't numbers, bookings or “units” to us. They are people's beloved family members, and we treat them as such.
A prison is a place where people are confined as punishment for crimes, detained while awaiting trial, or kept away from society for public safety.
That is absolutely not what an animal boarding business is.
Boarding isn't punishment. Your pet hasn't done anything wrong. We aren't “locking them up”. We are providing a safe, secure environment for them to stay while their families are away — with care, attention, enrichment and, most importantly, people who genuinely care about their wellbeing.
We completely understand that kennels and catteries aren't for everyone. And that's okay. ❤️
There are different types of boarding, different environments and different options, and every owner has the right to choose what feels best for them and their pet.
But if you genuinely feel that leaving your pet with us is like putting them in prison, then please, respectfully, don't book with us. 🤷🏽♀️
There is absolutely no shame in saying, “This type of boarding isn't right for me or my pet.”
What does hurt is choosing to use language that reduces the love, time, effort and care that we pour into this place to something so negative.
We pour our hearts into what we do. We open our home and our lives to your animals. We worry about them, celebrate their little personalities, comfort them when they're nervous and make sure they are cared for as though they were our own.
So before saying “I feel guilty putting my pet in prison,” please take a moment to think about the people standing in front of you who have dedicated their lives to caring for animals.
We are not a prison. We are a home-from-home. And we are proud of the love and care we provide. 🐶🐱❤️
If that's not what you're looking for, that's genuinely okay — there is no hard feeling. Just please choose somewhere that feels right for you, rather than putting down the people who work so hard to make this place special. 🐾
