Dukesmead Kennels & Cattery Dukesmead Boarding Kennels & Cattery is an award winning, licensed 5* kennels and cattery based just outside Marlborough, Wiltshire.

Award winning and exclusive boarding facility contracted by the MoD and Emergency Sevrices which is fully insured and licensed by Wilts Council (5 🌟) under the new 2018 regulations. The kennels and cattery came under new management in April 2017 and has undergone extensive refurbishment to improve the facilities offered. We look after both cats & dogs in our bright and airy pet accommodation, whic

h comes complete with central heating! We are based in the rolling hills of the Wiltshire Downs, just a few minutes from Junction 15 of the M4, off the A346 road to Marlborough. We come highly recommended from previous clients (and their pets!) and are used by many vets for their own pets, as well as approved and used by Wiltshire Police. We are a very popular, busy kennels therefore appointment times and opening hours must be adhered to.

☀️🐾 Heatwaves can be dangerous for our furry friends. Dogs and cats can overheat quickly — and heatstroke can become life-threatening in minutes.

Here are a few simple ways to help keep pets safe this summer:
💧 Keep fresh water available at all times
🌳 Make sure they have access to shade and cool spaces
🚶 Walk dogs early morning or late evening
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car
🧊 Use cooling mats, fans, or damp towels to help them stay comfortable

Know the signs of heatstroke:
⚠️ Heavy panting
⚠️ Drooling
⚠️ Lethargy
⚠️ Vomiting or collapse

If your pet seems unwell, move them somewhere cool, offer small amounts of water, and contact your vet immediately.

Today we said goodbye to Gin — our beautiful, confident, adventurous girl.

From the very beginning, she did everything on her own terms. Hand-reared from the tiniest kitten, she grew into a fearless feline: curious, clever, independent, and completely unforgettable. She carried herself like a lead lioness — graceful, strong, and quietly in charge of everything around her.

Gin filled our days with personality, comfort, mischief, and love. Whether she was exploring somewhere she shouldn’t, terrorising baby rabbits, or simply watching the world with those knowing eyes, she made every space feel fuller just by being in it.

The Cattery feels impossibly quiet without her now. We miss her more than words can ever properly express, and a part of us always will.

Thank you, Gin, for every moment, every memory, and every ounce of love you gave us. You were deeply cherished from your first tiny breath to your very last.
