Today was my last working day, and the day we close our doors as I head off on maternity leave.

I just want to say the biggest, most heartfelt thank you to every single one of you who has supported Lox & Hounds Grooming over the past three years. What a journey it has been.

It has truly been a privilege to meet you all and to care for your wonderful dogs. The trust you place in us with your beloved pets is never something we take for granted. We have laughed, cuddled, groomed, celebrated milestones and supported each other through life’s ups and downs, and I will cherish those memories always.

We are incredibly fortunate that our Corby salon will continue to offer the same love, care and incredible grooms with my amazing team, so if you wish to continue with us, you will be in the very best hands.

As for the future, we hope one day to return. But as you know, life sometimes has its own plans, and for now we are embracing this new chapter with open hearts.

This is not goodbye forever. It’s simply a see you later.

💚 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐩𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞 💚

After a lot of thought (and many emotions), we wanted to share an update with our Market Harborough clients.

As many of you know, Katrina will be starting maternity leave at the end of February. Because of this, and with our lease due to end during her maternity leave, we have made the difficult decision to 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 our Market Harborough location for the foreseeable future.

✨ 𝗧𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿:
We are not closing as a business, just this location.

🐾 What this means for you:

We have only a 𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 left for February
From March onwards, all future appointments will be based at our 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗯𝘆 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗻 for those who are able to travel
Corby uses the same booking system and database, so all pet details, groom notes, and history move seamlessly with you

For those who can’t make it to Corby, we have a list of 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 with availability. Please just message us and we’ll happily share it. We’re also more than happy to for𝗳𝗼𝗿𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲𝘀 or pet details to you or your new groomer, at any time.

📩 As both salons operate under the same limited company, all client information is held on the same system. If you would prefer for your details to be archived or removed to prevent future automated emails, just let us know.

Looking ahead…
We would love to return to Market Harborough one day. Katrina is hoping to gradually return to grooming later this year, with a hopeful full return in 2027 🤞

🦷 EMMI-PET 🦷

This little lady has undergone several veterinary dental procedures over the years. As she gets older, the risks associated with anaesthetic increase, so her wonderful owners have chosen to trial Emmi-Pet before more invasive dental work becomes necessary.

Emmi-Pet is a fantastic tool for maintaining good oral health and preventing excessive plaque build-up. It can also be effective at removing mild to moderate plaque.*

*Provided your vet has confirmed that no further dental treatment is currently required, such as extractions.

Good morning & welcome to January!

We are back open from 9am today and have a full week ahead.

Over the weekend, temperatures have dropped and we’ve seen a light fluttering of snow ❄️
The salons will be opening as planned, as main routes are gritted and accessible. Please allow plenty of extra time for your journey, ensure your vehicle is fully de-iced (including registration plates and lights), and take extra care on the roads.

Cold weather dog safety reminders:
• Keep walks shorter if it’s icy, especially for puppies, seniors, and smaller breeds
• Avoid pavements and roads treated with grit or salt where possible as these can irritate paws
• Rinse and dry paws after walks to remove salt and prevent cracking (using warm water only, not hot)
• Consider a coat for short-haired or older dogs
• Stay visible during darker mornings and evenings with reflective leads or collars

This handsome 10yo Airedale has been a part of the Oakley Grooming family from the start.

After a few weeks away from the salon, Alfie was in need of some serious pampering. His jacket has been de-shed and hand-stripped, keeping his luxurious coat flowing in that rich, vibrant colour we all love.

We’ve also tidied up his ears and feathering into a more practical style, so Alfie can enjoy his winter walks without being weighed down by wet, muddy fur—and still look absolutely fabulous while doing it!

🍁 FENN 🍂

Our beautiful girl Fenn came in for her very first big girl groom yesterday 🤎

Because she’d had her puppy introduction visits, she already knew the salon was a safe, happy place. Those early sessions are all about building confidence, letting pups hear the noises, feel the tools, and understand the routine without any pressure.

And this is exactly why they matter. When haircut day arrived, Fenn took it all in her stride. No stress, no worries, just a calm, confident pup who absolutely nailed her first trim and then posed like a pro for her photos.

The early work really does pay off
