RUBY has been in her foster with view to adopt home for around a month and it has sadly become apparent that she finds it very difficult to trust men. The man of the house where she is is her main handler and, although he has tried very hard to help her, he is finding it difficult to persuade Ruby to come near enough to him to have, for example, her lead put on and he feels that it is not fair on her to go through the daily stress of being uncomfortable with him handling her. She shows no aggression, but panics and runs away from him. She takes a little while to trust women as well, but she does love and trust them eventually and it is clear that she is much more comfortable with females. She is a lovely girl and very cuddly with females once she settles. If a single female, or a couple where the female will be the main carer, preferably with another calm and confident dog, would be willing to provide her the calm, confident and loving home she truly deserves, please do apply via our website. Please see below for information previously provided:-
Meet our gorgeous Ruby who is looking for her forever home. She is around 1 year old – we have no history prior to her arriving with us a couple of months ago. She has been in foster for assessment and is doing very well. She is very timid with new people to start with which she shows by backing away and takes a while to warm to them, but once she does, she is a real cuddler. She will hopefully become more confident to meet new people once she is properly settled. She walks pretty well on a lead and is very friendly and playful with the dogs she has been sharing a home with. Ideally she would like to continue to share a home with a playful friendly companion and have a garden to run in. She loves a walk and is very active in the garden but equally is happy to lounge around asleep for a large part of the day. She can live with cats and possibly calm female children over 8. If you feel you can give her the love she deserves and a forever sofa, please complete a form on line using this link https://www.tagpetrescue.org.uk/dogs/ruby
