🐾🌟 Happy veterinary receptionist week! 🌟🐾

This week we are celebrating our wonderful front of house team, who are always on hand with a smile to help you all, and to keep us lot in check!

We couldn't operate without their hard work, forward thinking, organisation and above all, sense of humour! They are essential to making our practice run smoothly and it wouldn't be possible to offer your pets the high standard of care we pride ourselves in without them. Our heroes 😍❤️🙌👸

We all remember that classic Aesops fable of the tortoise and the vet 🐢👩‍⚕️

Penny came in to see Vet Laura for her worming, but won the race by retreating into her shell before it could be administered! Penny is in her 80's, (sorry Penny, we know one shouldn't mention a ladys age!) and has become wise to our tricks over the years. Sometimes our clever little friends mean we have to think outside the box a little. Luckily, we have a plan B to tempt her with wormer-laced blueberries!

We still very much enjoyed Penny's visit and love seeing our reptilian visitors!

📢New(ish) kid on the block!

Mel joined us back in November as a receptionist so many of you may have already met her! (Sorry, we've been a bit slow in formally introducing her to you all)

Mel has a wealth of experience having been in the veterinary industry for 25 years! Having done an array of roles including (but not limited to!) receptionist, practice administrator, equine nursing and practice manager. Mel previously worked at an equine vets, so do feel free to chat to her about your larger four legged friends when you're in! 🐴

Mel loves the great outdoors, and lives locally with her husband, 3 children, and her many pets - 2 sprocker spaniel puppies, 2 cats, a cornsnake and Popcorn the Shetland pony 🍿🐍🐈‍⬛️🐶

Last week the lovely Potato came in to see us for castration. He was such a happy, friendly boy from start to finish, and he didn't even object to being forced to wear such a fabulous outfit. In our opinion, anything that keeps a surgical wound protected is a good look! 🦓 💅🥔

The Easter Bunny came early when this ear-resistable little lady (see what we did there?) visited us for a bandage change today.

We are wishing Ru a speedy recovery, hopefully in time to shell-ebrate Easter this weekend. (OK we'll stop now, we're just egg-cited!) 🐰🐣🐇

We're sure a lot of you have seen all the media coverage about the CMA report, so we just wanted to check in with you all. The report focuses on transparency within the profession, to include being open about practice ownership and being clear with pricing.

🐾 We are an INDEPENDENT practice. Vet Lara and Practice Manager Janet opened the practice in 2018, so the practice is owned and run by the people you see day to day.

🐾 We are proud to have been working to many of the CMAs standards already, including publishing prices online and providing estimates for procedures. We will display a more detailed list of our prices in the waiting area, too.

🐾 We don't work to any sales targets, commissions or bonus schemes, so you can be assured we only ever recommend treatment that we believe your pet truly needs.

🐾 We welcome the CMA report and hope it will have a positive impact on our profession. We have always aimed to be honest and transparent with clients, and look forward to continuing to build trust within the community, and of course meeting you and your pets 🐈‍⬛️🐕🐓

🐰 EASTER OPENING HOURS 🐣

A kindly reminder to order all of your pets repeat medications well in advance of the Easter weekend!

As always, the excellent PETS service at Newnham Court Veterinary Hospital will be covering our out of hours, should any of your little darlings go on their own easter egg hunt and require veterinary assistance! 🐕🍫🥚

Meet Nibbles.
Nibbles came in today for a post op check. Yesterday he was castrated. We are pleased to say he is doing really well and back for his normal friendly self.

Good afternoon.
Hope everyone is enjoying this glorious weather. If anyone is having a spring clean/clear out. We would be grateful for towels and blankets. We cannot take pillows or duvets as we cannot wash them. 🙏 🌞

This beautiful girl came to visit our vet Laura after her owners noticed she was not herself. After a full examination Laura found a possible swelling under her tongue, blood tinged saliva, discomfort and a strong odour. Laura suspected a foreign body in her mouth.
She was admitted and placed under a GA. Laura was correct and found a stick lodged under her tongue. She made a quick and a full recovery.
