Hey everyone, it’s that time of year again with the Marchington open gardens on the horizon 20-21 June.
If anyone has got any unwanted gifts or things they don’t want that would be good for a tombola I’d love them! ☺️
I also need items for the raffle I do. So if any businesses out there would like to donate I would be grateful.
Please PM me if you have anything. Myself and the hedgehogs would be very grateful.

So, I’ve broken my New Year’s resolution to update more! Sorry.
Anyway 2026 started off slow with not may arrivals but last week saw about 6 hedgies come in. They are all still with me. Most of them have parasites in their tummies but a couple of them have wounds.
This is a picture of Tiny Tim just before he was released. I always get them out to see how they are just before releasing to make sure everything is ok.
Thank you to everyone who supports me and if anyone can donate with money or kitten food, puppy pads, disposable gloves etc it would really help.

Hey Everyone, I am still here helping hedgehogs.

So hedgehogs are beginning to wake up after hibernating and they will need our help.

Hibernation would have exhausted all their fat supply and they will now be building their strength back up ready for hoglet season.

To help them please put some water and food out for them as they will be very hungry. No need for the expensive hedgehog food, dry cat/Kitten food would be great.

If you ever find a sick or injured hedgehog pop them in a high sided box with a warm hot water bottle and blanket. Then call me and I will offer advice and either pick up the hedgehog or it can be dropped off to me.

I’m not sure whether it’s a good or bad sign but I haven’t had any hedgehogs in since December!

The Picture is of Squishly named because he’s like a squish mellow! 😂 he is a gorgeous boy brought in by one of my great supporters who raises money for my rescue. He’s been through treatment for internal parasites and he will be soon ready for release. ❤️🦔

Happy New Year everyone!

Meet Candy Cane. She came in as an Autumn Juvenile with lots of tummy parasites. She is all better now and is in and out of hibernation in the hedgehog shed.

Currently I have 28 hedgehogs and all but 14 are hibernating. Dare I say (incase I get a deluge 😂) I haven’t had any new hedgehogs since just before Christmas. I’m taking this time to reset and recharge ready for spring.

Please remember that not all hedgehogs hibernate and even if they do they may wake to get some food or drink. So keep putting out water and food for them. Water I know is a bit difficult to stop from freezing this time of year and if anyone has any tips to stop this from happening, please share! 😁

I want to thank you all for your support last year as our hedgehogs need as much help as they can get.

I’m sorry I’ve been so quiet and that I haven’t been posting. My New Year’s resolution is to post more and let my followers know what is going on at the rescue. I have been quite busy this year mainly with hoglets and juveniles. I’ve had lots of successes and lots of sadness. Some of the hedgehogs here are hibernating but please remember not all hedgehogs hibernate. If you can leave out some kitten biscuits and water for them as natural food sources are hard to find this time of year.Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a happy new year. 🎄❤️🦔

Here’s a pic of beautiful Mrs Tiggywinkle. She’s been with me a while as she came in as a tiny hoglet. She was found at Alton Towers and when she came in she had a tummy infection and all the usual parasites.
Mrs Tiggywinkle is doing well but her tummy infection has come back so she’s just finished treatment for that.

Happy Christmas everyone from Lisa and the Hedgehogs. This is Baubles who came in as a hoglet without her mum. She was quite poorly but is doing really well. Enjoy the little video.

Hey everyone, first of all I would like to thank everyone that came to the Marchington open gardens to support me.

I am nearly at capacity and I’m in need of newspapers. Hardly have any left!

If you have or know somebody who reads newspapers please can you bring to me and put in the box outside my house. If you need my address I’ll happily private message you.

The picture is of Yorkie. He came in with mum at 96g but mum didn’t want him. I’ve hand reared him and he now weighs over 400g.

Hi, Prickles in a Pickle Marchington Hedgehogspital is opening for the Marchington open gardens next weekend. Therewill also be a raffle, Tombola etc. I’m just wondering if anyone has a small gazebo the rescue can borrow. We have one but that wasn’t quite enough last year.

Also if anyone has got any styrofoam we could have that would be great. We are making a hedgehog scarecrow and need it to stick things in to make spikes.

If you could help with either message me or email [email protected].

Thank you
