🐴Venue update and 2026 dates💛

Thank you to everyone who took the time to vote in our poll about whether to run this season at Lindhurst arena or move to a grass field we have very kindly been offered.

The result was a large majority vote for the grass field, so we are going to run this year from there and see how it goes!

Due to holidays in April we will start shows in May, and not run membership this year. All classes will be open to everyone for a set price.

The field is a private field on Cross Lane, Blidworth NG21 0LZ and will be sign posted on the day. We will also have some parking available on a first come first served basis!

2026 Show Jumping Dates:
Saturday 16th May
Sunday 14th June
Saturday 18th July
Saturday 12th September

Trec:
Sunday 28th June
Sunday 9th August

Watch this space for more information on the venue, prices and parking a bit closer to the first show 😀

Hi everyone, happy 2026 and year of the Horse! 🐎

We have had our first committee meeting and would love to try and run this year so we need your support!

We have very kindly been offered the option of a grass field to run from (both the show jumping and trec) - or we can continue to run at the arena at Lindurst.

We would like your opinions and have put together a very quick survey to see what the majority of our riders/potential riders would prefer. It literally takes 1 minute and you can stay anonymous if you prefer.

Click here https://bdrc.surveysparrow.com/s/BDRC-Survey/tt-17d97a to select your preferred choice of venue.

Option 1 - A large mostly flat grass field in Blidworth, Cross Lane area. The field is on sand land so well draining, however we will be more at risk from extreme sun/rain. The field has space to run trec and show jumping from, plus space for a warm up area. There is also space for a limited amount of parking, approx 4 per show, on a strictly first come first served basis.

Option 2 - Continue to run jumping at Lindhurst using their 20x40 arena with a nice soft surface. The arena is smaller, with no proper warm up or parking, however the surface is nice and bouncy for horses legs (and falls...) Run Trec at Alison's field again.

Option 3 - Any other suggestions are welcome, however they must be hackable for most riders in Blidworth as our ethos has always been to look after our local riders who may not have transport to other shows.

Thank you, please feel free to share with any friends in the area. :)

❗️Important Announcement from BDRC.❗️

We have sadly had to make the decision to cancel the rest of the shows for 2025 (trec and show jumping) due to lack of entries at the last 3 shows. The cost of our insurance increases year on year, and we have kept our entry fees as low as possible for years, but sadly we are not covering the costs of the arena hire, rosettes and insurance.

We will of course refund all membership fees that have been paid for this season. 💜

Rather than run at a loss for the rest of this year, we have decided to stop now and hopefully start again next spring, if we can round up enough support!

We know there have been suggestions about the size of the arena and lack of parking being an issue, however we have NEVER had parking previously and whilst the arena is not huge, it is a lovely surface, and we are careful of the amount of jumps we use. Running on grass is not an option with the British weather, as we would have to cancel more often due to being too wet or too hard. We searched the local area for a venue and there is nowhere else in Blidworth/Ravenshead with a large arena with parking that our regulars can easily hack to... if you know somewhere we don't, feel free to message us or email us [email protected] !

We hope you all understand our decision and we are so sad to do this as we love running the club and seeing our riders progress and have fun! But we are keeping everything crossed if we take a break this year, we can come back with a bang next year! 🥳

Best wishes,
Alison, Clare, Charlotte and Amy

❌We are so sorry but due to low entries the show jumping on Saturday 26th July is cancelled 🥲❌

We really appreciate everyone who has entered, but we sadly aren't covering the cost of the arena hire, rosettes and insurance 😞

We will be having a committee meeting in the next few weeks to discuss the future of the club, as we have never experienced a season like this before.
