Rob + Jesse + SB just got in from the .coop weekend 2026, it was so great, we are so tired!

Rob ran a paper-making workshop, we flogged some shirts and chatted with co-operators from across the UK about lots of interesting stuff: being a skint co-op, co-operation in nature, why NGOs won’t save us. Plus some 10/10 scran from icons

A few pics from the first inks & dyes Rooted session, taken by botanical alchemist 🧙‍♀️🌸

We’ve slowed right down for these sessions, focusing less on ecological skills and more on creative practice as a means of supporting wellbeing. We’ve noticed small details on wild walks, made our own recycled paper and combined foraged materials with science magic to produce inks & dyes.

🌸flowering currant which is great for making vimto inspired cordials

🍄 jelly ear mushrooms which are often used in Asian cooking

🧄wild garlic which is a classic! See our substack for some wild garlic recipes

🍃young nettles which are great for soups, sautés, even salads

🍵bramble buds which make a decent cup of something that approximates green tea without the caffeine

We're excited to share our new event series, Rooted! 🍃

Rooted is a free three-part wellbeing programme designed for LGBT+ people interested in nature and creativity. Over three sessions we'll explore a green space, create recycled paper and inky artworks using botanical materials. Sessions take place at Platt Fields Market Garden in Fallowfield and across south Manchester throughout late Spring.

Belated thank-you to all the SENSATIONAL volunteers who've been to our fermentation volunteer sessions over the last few months. We've been able to process many hefty boxes of brassicas into tasty sauerkraut for use in community meals at , and had a lovely time doing it 💪🥬
