This is a new one for me😬

Half way through the clip i give under the belly a quick rub to do my quick pre clip run over. And i feel something really scabby..

We look underneath and see a little wire hanging down from the belly.

I feel down and see its stitches...really really old stitches...

So obviously 🙄 i just cant help myself. I start pulling...and pulling and pulling.

Just under a foot long stitch scar that had gone un noticed due to the amount of hair!

We rang the owner who said hed had an operation about 3 years ago. He just didnt know the stitches were there.

Alls good now. All the stitches are out and he feels miles better with his itchy lip going. Im glad i felt that before i just clipped through it

You never know what you might find..

ALWAYS RUN YOUR HANDS THROUGH EVERY PART OF A HORSE BEFORE YOU SET CLIPPERS TO THEM😝

Who'd a thunk it ey..

This little boy who i used to ride ba****ck round the streets of Bolton to make sure he was safe for his little mummy... is going to the biggest show of the year in 6 days...

Tommy has had a covercoat clip with a leg blend, mane blend, cheek blend and tail blend. Hes also had his ears tidied up

This clip gives a very natural summer coat looking clip. It doesnt last massively long while the winter coats are still growing through, but it will tide him over while he performs and strutts his stuff in the ring of champions 🏆

This clip costs £60 to £80 depending on size of horse

And £120 if you dont make me a brew😝(or a voddy)

Clipping season has begun

Covercotes seem to be in for the win this month. Iv had to buy me whole new set of blades. This is a perfect (slightly more expensive cause its a ballache to get the clip lines out) clip for showing season. Or to just not let them feel the cold as much

If you are just clipping like i do for aesthetic dryness and cleanliness, maybe leave it a little longer yet. If they are sweating, aim for a bib clip or something cheaper.

These winter coats are still throwing through and as always i try and save you money.

If we do full clips now il be getting another phonecall off you in a month🫩😅

Il always have a soft spot for Tommy. I rode him as a wee man, ba****ck, round the streets of bolton, before his little girl owner knew he existed.. and now Tommy Gun is a big boy going to HOYS qualifiers😉

Hetty had her yearly clip with me. Her mum clipped her earlier in the year which im mega chuffed about.
But as she is showing her soon she wanted something a little tidier.

Im showing the area under her armpit purposely.. she has girth galls. Something i see so often in rounder shaped horses. Sometimes they arent fat, theyre just round in shape🤔 its hard to explain..

But iv left the hair there and semi trimmed it down in the girth area to just keep that little bit of protection from rubbing
